I've had enough experience with organic intelligence to realize that this is to be expected.Caine123 wrote: Tue Sep 10, 2024 8:25 pm the AI thing seems kinda broken?
you just need to check the settings and generate presets and if you only change SEEDS you get the same results?
shouldnt changing SEEDS also produce different presets?
my experience with this so far is underwhelming, which is good for sound designers, i get so many samey results which is strange when it should make sooooooooo many different sounds and random intelligently ai generated presets.
this thing comes nowhere near a sound designer in my opinion yet, it feels like there is a pool of 1000 presets and you get always the same ones randomly and sometimes with some noise etc. or maybe i use this wrong.

For those of us who are not heavy preset users and prefer to create our own without the need for A.I. is there any planned development for Spire itself? New features or functions, expanded range of sounds?
I love making my own patches so hitting a couple of buttons and letting A.I. tell me what I want holds zero appeal to me.
Spire is a great synth now but it's missing a lot of features that I find useful so I very often reach for other more feature rich synths instead.
User waveform import would be top of my list......

We do have a robust roadmap of features in development, and some releases are on the horizon. While we can’t disclose specifics just yet, we’re confident these updates will bring new creative possibilities for users like you.Teksonik wrote: Fri Jan 03, 2025 7:35 pm For those of us who are not heavy preset users and prefer to create our own without the need for A.I. is there any planned development for Spire itself? Since you mentioned feature-rich synths, we’d love to know which specific features (aside from waveform import) you’re referring to. Thanks!Teksonik wrote: Fri Jan 03, 2025 7:35 pm Spire is a great synth now but it's missing a lot of features that I find useful so I very often reach for other more feature rich synths instead.

Fantastic! I'll be looking forward to what the future brings to Spire.vega555 wrote: Sat Jan 04, 2025 2:37 pm We do have a robust roadmap of features in development, and some releases are on the horizon. Well I like multiple Arp/Seqs and the ability for some Oscs to bypass the Arp. I use multiple layers in a lot of synths that take sounds beyond the current 4 Osc limit of Spire.vega555 wrote: Sat Jan 04, 2025 2:37 pmSince you mentioned feature-rich synths, we’d love to know which specific features (aside from waveform import) you’re referring to. So to sum up, more Oscs, Filters, Arp/Seqs, more routing options (like FX for one Osc but bypassed for another, etc). Anything that expands the range and complexity of sounds Spire can make gets my vote.....

I have to agree about the AI thing. That was a huge detractor to me. Just the term is a negative but also the feature itself. I'm afraid that doesn't interest me.
For the most part I like the synth as it is, feature wise. There is a risk that too many oscillators or filters or envelopes or arps and it is just going to become convoluted. Bloated.
For Spire I'd rather just see continually improved/extra Fx models to what Effects modules are already present. If you want to add a new Osc type, I'd like something that takes wav samples and could run them through the envelope and loop/reverse it. So in the list there would be 'Classic, Noise, FM, AMSync, etc, and Sample'. But I don't want a 5th osc slot. Four oscillator slots is plenty much.
There is value to limits. Quality over Quantity.

Well, if you're asking, I'd love to see support for polyphonic aftertouch, considering it's become fairly common now that it's included in Native Instruments and Korg controllers, as well as a handful of other synthesizers. Bonus if you want to support MPE. You could add these things and not really have to change the interface much. Even if you don't own an MPE controller or synth, you can utilize those features in a lot of DAWs. This would be especially excellent in Spire, as it's pretty much the best synth for per-voice distortion in the software world. Being able to modulate it per voice with a MPE controller would be sweet.vega555 wrote: Sat Jan 04, 2025 2:37 pmSince you mentioned feature-rich synths, we’d love to know which specific features (aside from waveform import) you’re referring to. Please don't add too much features. There's enough bloated synths around.vega555 wrote: Sat Jan 04, 2025 2:37 pmSince you mentioned feature-rich synths, we’d love to know which specific features (aside from waveform import) you’re referring to. What can be improved is the values of parameters and how they are exposed to the daw.

But, maybe, one or two additional new skins?
Or Satya, Plugmon, Ploki, or any other talented GUI designer out there could provide one?
[I have always liked the white skin that satyatunes once did, but I do understand that it was commissioned by a music producer for personal use only.]

Import of additional wavetables and couple of more skins would be enough for me. As someone mentioned before - we certainly dont need another super bloated synth as Rapid, Synthmaster, Aveneger, Phaseplant, etc. Simplicity is something we need.

- Updated GUI to display all the presets in a bank. (without irritating scrolling.)
- Lockable sections (i.e. FX, Arp) similar to Nexus/Blue.

I like Spire the way it is but a freely resizable UI would be nice,100% is a little too small and 150% is too big for my little computer screen.

There are already a million simple synths but only a handful of super synths.
Every complex synth can be simple but no simple synth can be complex.
I got bored with simple synths more decades ago than I care to admit so bring on the super synths.
Don't dumb Spire down to beginner's level....
