Why is it Logic updates never seem to appear in the updates section in the AppStore like everything else does? I always have to go to the product page to find and install updates

Shit. Requires 14.4? Guess I'm stuck with my current version as I'm still on Ventura. I bet it's completely unnecessary from a technical perspective and just a trick to get you to install their latest OS.

Apparently, this version is more of a hot fix in that “Auto Input Monitoring now works as expected” is all they have to say about this release.

There is no such procedure. Just delete it from your drive (if you're sending your Mac back, presumably you'll wipe the drive anyway).

In the app store, click on your account name in the bottom left. In the top right is an Account Settings link. Click it and in the Hidden Items section click on Manage Devices. From there you can remove the device from your Apple account.

Alternatively you can do it online from https://account.apple.com/account/manag ... on/devices

What I do is open the Store menu in the Apple Store app and while on the "Updates" page click on "Reload" option in the menu list to reveal missing updates.

I've been having issues with Logic crashing, sometimes randomly, but every time when I attempt to export anything at all.
The second I try export, boom, crash.

The random crashes I thought might be due to third-party plugins, but it crashed on me a couple of times last night using purely stock plugins. M1 MacBook Air fwiw.

I have to upgrade my music-making device, was considering a base model M4 mini but if Logic's crashing from just stock plugins.. idk how smart it is to go further into the Apple ecosystem.. I do have other DAWs.

Might be smarter to just upgrade the PC instead, but besides the crashes, I've been enjoying Logic a lot so figured shifting to a dedicated Mac for Logic would be cool. The crashes are a real dampener on that idea atm :/

No crashes here.
There may be another reason for that on your computer.

Interesting - I've restarted multiple times, tried it in different projects as well as new projects and every time I try to go File > Export > Selection as Audio File, it crashes, this is one I can replicate with 100% consistency.

There's other instances when it crashes but I haven't identified why - this is without any third-party plugins too, purely stock plugins.

I don't get it.

I'd love to go with Mac and push forward with Logic on an M4 Mini, but these crashes have me so hesitant. I own other DAWs as well so even if there was issues with Logic, I could always use Bitwig or Reaper or Studio One on the M4 mini.

The idea behind going with an Apple system and not updating/upgrading my PC would be because of Logic though. Which is crashing on me consistently on my M1 MacBook Air (base model).
