The implementation is so bad. You don't even get the full framerate that those VSTs use. Have they fixed that in v 13?

You can bet they won't pay any attention to it.

Reason user since ver 1... brought every update/upgrade since ver 1... upgraded to Reason Studio 13 for x-mas for $79... since x-mas 12/25 Reason Studio has crash more than the length that i have owned Reason... for some reason Reason Studio is having problems with ikmultimedia products... i.e. modo drums, hammond b3x, sampletank 4, and effects... i have updated all my ikmultimedia products and Reason Studio is still crashing... there was a time when Reason was rock solid... there is no recovery when Reason Studio crashes... i.e. you lose your work... just wondering what has gone wrong Reason Studio?

I have never experienced a crash or any problem in stability or GUI in all years of Reason, but since VST support, I used few instruments vst with it as I have several great RE that are rock solid.
Lately I used Addictive Drums and Atomika with Reason players without any problem. I tested all my VST/VSTi plugins and all work well (I don’t have IK Multimedia, iLOK or Waves plugins).
Using: Cubase Pro 15, Reason 13, Tascam US-4x4HR, MODX6, DM12D, LaunchKey 49, Yamaha guitar(Pacifica 612v) and bass (BB234) and some virtual instruments and synths.

Yeah Reason is still the most rock solid DAW I use. I haven't had a single crash in 13 and I actually use a ton of VST's.
Windows 10 PC. Reason. Cubase. Waveform. Reaper. Studio One Pro. Epiphone Les Paul Pro II. Nektar Panorama t4. Yamaha RBX Bass. Faderport 2. Eris E5 Monitors. SSL2 Interface. Audient Evo 4. AKG C214. Aston Origin. MXL 990.

personally, i own Komplete 15 collection edition, all specstrasonic stuff (trillian, stylus rmx, omnisphere, keyscrapes), all ikmultimedia stuff (effects/vsti), applied Acoustics stuff, Rob Papen stuff, toonstrack stuff, u-he stuff, UVI stuff, etc... no problems in the previous versions of Reason/Reason Studio... but crashes in RS 13... Reason/RS has always been rock solid except for ver 13 for me...

there are no crashes using ableton live or fl studio with these same plug-ins... again, i have own Reason since ver 1 and purchased every single update/upgrade... i.e. i am familiar with Reason/Reason Studio...

^^^ by the way, if it has been working fine so far, it might be worth registering as a beta tester and opening a ticket for them; they tend to respond quickly based on experience.

Have you noted down which plugins caused the crash?
Are you on Mac or PC?
If you are on Windows, maybe the event viewer would help you knowing about the crash. On Mac I have no idea which tool to use.

Of course you have the support to seek help from, but personally I leave support option at last effort.

I had few crashes with Cubase 13 but with first release, now it’s stable. If you have lots of plugins (especially those with aggressive protection), you might want to wait and use late release even from previous editions of your main DAW. I mean, don’t upgrade till after some time and few releases.

Yeah, but this was back when they weren't open for VSTs.
Nowadays its so frustrating when that happens...

I believe that now it is the peak (till now)! Version 3,4 or 5 were great with workflow and creativity, but the sound was 'thin' or not that great, and many complained about it (I remember well, 'the Reason's sound').
Nowadays, however, it is the same level with VST/AU plugins with fantastic players, synths and effects. Awesome third party Rack Extensions are there as well :)
