For what it's worth, many of us have released OSC tracks through the usual platforms without any problem. Someone has a Spotify playlist with many of the tracks in fact.

Although I am not a legal expert, I think the following summarises what this means:

This is the license under which the One-Synth-Challenge publishes your tune in the archive. It basically enables OSC to store and distribute your submitted track for the purposes of the challenge. This license prohibits others from using your track for commercial purposes, or from making derivative works without your express permission, whilst allowing it to be downloaded, played, distributed in its original form.
You retain the copyright as author, and can of course do as you wish with your own track. However, you will not receive royalties from the version distributed under this license.

Anyway, I’m still not sure what to do. My plan was to take on the challenge because I love this kind of thing (I was challenging myself in a similar way before I learned about this KVR challenge a few months ago). However, at the same time, I’d like to know if I can release the song (with some minor changes, after the winner is announced) on other platforms without any issues, since I have an Artist profile and I’m trying to earn some money (very unsuccessfully at the moment…). I hope this is allowed (and the song is almost ready )

Yes. That's totally allowed. OSC isn't claiming any ownership of the track.

It only sets the licensing terms for this specific case of the contest. Other than that, you can do whatever you want with your track (license it under different licenses on other platforms, have it distributed by a provider like Distrokid, etc.). You don't even have to wait for the contest to end (since your track will be public on Soundcloud the moment you upload it for the contest anyway).

"Your entry must be composed specifically for this contest."
means you're creating a new work for this contest, but in no way limits your work to only appear on SC or only in this contest. It doesn't say that.

A concern might be an artist with an established following on other song sites that could gain a voting advantage if they enter the contest, and also ask their followers to vote in the contest. Could skew voting to their advantage. Never seen that happen, but idk.

But as pointed out, as soon as you post it on SoundCloud it's public. You can announce on your SC that the work is a OSC entry. You then post here your work is a contest entry with the SC link. It's still your work and do what you want with it. And you CAN update/change your entry before voting starts right in your SC account (if you have Artist). When voting starts, don't change it.

I'm of the understanding you can update a work after voting has ended? I've done that several times making minor changes with some of my past entries on my SC. And noted I updated the entry.

Non-participants have to have 40 or more KVR posts to their name in order to vote!

Yes. Raum is fine. I also like it. Along with Valhalla SuperMassive, ReaVerb and OrilRiver and EpicPlate and Protoverb etc etc.
An OSCer also just made their own free reverb btw though I haven't tried it yet. The Sound of Merlin.

A little note on convolution devices ... which B&S is one.
Be carefull with such devices in order to stay within the rulez. Adding Reverb is only one thing convolution devices can do. The wavs you us in convolution devices as so called "Impulse Responses" come from recording the resulting signal of an "Impulse", that's why they are called impulse response ... But you can actually record Impulse Responses of each and any Device or combination of devices, and then "imprint" this on your signal ... could as well be a distortion device, a lp filter, anything you can think off that provides the impulse response. YOu can even correct phase issues of devices with a counter-impulse response

That is just a note. I'm not saying "you are not allowed to use B&S", just use it judicously.
