dammit, ive not had an email!!!
now wondering if i even signed up for this or just the stylophone theremin?
This happened to me with the Stylophone, so I missed it. I'm back on the list now. That said, I'm not sure that I still want this. Wasn't it targeting a price lower than $279 on announcement?

Yup.
Since we began the journey there has been increased manufacturing and production costs, and currency changes which we’ve reflected in the confirmed pricing.

Fair enough. I think what I'm sticker-shocked over is less related to their price and more related to how much Behringer has lowered their prices. I'm not sure that I need a $300 drone synth more than I need a $300 something else.

No, and no. I think that the Aubry Audrey 2 is overpriced. I wouldn't "hate it", but, I have little use for it. Products like that are exactly why I like modular synths. I also don't like most drum synth modules. I make exceptions for some. OTOH, I like their $49 quick design bpards based on the Daisy-seed. I have other Daisy-Seed prototyping materials.

All that said, I'm not a fan of most feedback work. Keep in mind that I've been to more "noise shows" than you might realize and so I've heard endless variations of feedback drones. Most I dislike, I find them fatiguing.

I like some such recordings more than others.

That said, if I wanted something like Aubrey Audrey II badly, I'd just build it either in Reaktor, or using something like the daisy boards that I already have.

Yeah, no. At its core, that design is conceptually very simple and is not unusual to anyone who's played around with feedback loops, especially those in which you stuff a reverb. It may sound amazing to you, to me, it sounds exactly like I expected it would sound. Even if I didn't think that it was pretty easy to build something similar, the code is open source, so I could build it exactly without spending $300.

The CPM DS-2 is also something that is really cut from similar cloth in that much of it's "power" comes from the digital effects. It's not that bad, but, I don't need more oscillators or simple 3320 based filters.

I don't think that I could convince myself to spend that much money on either when there are so many other $300-$500 devices that I'd rather have, e.g., Cosmos, Mood II, etc. I just thought that it was better value when Behringer VCOS were all $99 or more.

On Edit: Ok audrey no aubrey, got it, I was wrrooiiigigighghghooooonng.

10 oscillator per board :wheee:
chromaphone is closerer!
Are those boards for a physical modeling synth kit?
