Even though I'm a die hard C74 / U-He fanboy, I'd buy alpha forever in a heartbeat if available for mac. So yeah, + 1000 to bmanic's post.

Thanks for the support, but I do not want to gaslight you: I cannot promise, that we will work on an Apple port ever. I'd only dare to write it down in public if we had a reliably working version anyway, but that is not the case by far. If we somehow happen to move to Juce, that might help, but that is not planned. The milestones for this year are to move to VST3, rework the preset system, and rework the palette, but first, we need to release the current version (it's waiting for me to finish with stuff).

Ok, yeah no worries. Just nudging you once a year towards a mac port for entirely selfish reasons. I wont bother you more than once a year about this, promise! I can always use my old windows laptop or install AF on my little Asus Rog Ally gaming thingy.

Alpha Forever is absolutely amazing piece of software and you should be super proud of it! All the best for 2025!

It's true , it is simply amazing and has a great sound and gui , and most importantly it's still in active development .
In the meantime you can still use reaktor , because truth be said there is nothing that alpha forever can do that reaktor can't .
I think it all comes down to preferences .

Indeed! My selfish reason is that I vastly prefer the workflow of AF over Reaktor and I believe it may actually be a better overall design.

I am constantly considering switching back to Windows but something about the direction Microsoft has gone over the years makes it a difficult proposition. More likely my next chapter in operating systems will be some Linux distro.. but that won't happen untill it's properly mainstream (so maybe in 15 years?).

Quick question (asking here because I don't see a way to contact the developers directly through the website) - is there a quantizer included in the modules? If so, is it possible to load Scala/microtonal files? I didn't see a quantizer in the list of modules, but I may have missed it.

Regarding microtuning: the custom function can be set up easily to work as a microtuner, loading scales is not supported.

I'm working on the marketing material for the next official update. The dev build is available on our Discord.

I hope, I'll finish the material this month, so we can release it in February, and start working on new stuff.

We are also waiting for Bitwig ATM. Since the second beta of 5.3, Bitwig started to steal key commands, and important keys such as shift and ctrl stopped working, while other keys sometimes work, and sometimes don't. I'm checking each new beta for the fix, but even today's update (5.3 beta 5) is lacking. I hope they will fix it for the official version. It worked fine in 5.2.7. The only thing we could do is to introduce alternative key commands or rewrite the entire GUI.

I appreciate you responding here - I don't really frequent social media, and find Discord to be overstimulating .

Does the custom function act as a general quantizer (using standard 12TET), as well? Is there a tutorial video that shows how to do this?
