6, 12, or 1000..? C'mon, be specific!
I think they'll do an Xpander or Matrix 12 - not sure this will be it though.

I would give my left nut for a high quality Matrix 12 plugin. The Arturia version is rather datedfelis wrote: Thu Jan 16, 2025 10:03 pm Everyone would like for GForce to do a Matrix 12 or Xpander, but I'm not getting my hopes up just yet.
It's just pretty old at this point and could stand to be revised with the better modeling they use nowExamigan wrote: Thu Jan 16, 2025 8:48 pm I like the Arturia Matrix 12V, but heard others say it isn't actually that close enough to the original sound. I never had the original to compare it to, but liked it anyway.
I'd like to hear a GForce version.![]()

Spend them wisely, there's a bright future of analog modeling ahead this yearIvyBirds wrote: Fri Jan 17, 2025 2:43 amI would give my left nut for a high quality Matrix 12 plugin. In all seriousness an accurate Matrix 12 is a dream product for me. If I had that I would have no further need to buy anything "analog" in plugin land for at least the rest of the year

There used to be a video interview with Dave Spiers somewhere, where he stated something to the effect of, the sound of the CS-80 was pretty generic and unremarkable. It was the instrument itself that made it so wonderful. PolyAT, weighted keys, ribbon controller.Echoes in the Attic wrote: Thu Jan 16, 2025 7:55 pm I always thought they were going to do one of the other ones they did videos on, and have in their studio, like the CS-80 or the Jupiter-8. CS-80 would be funny/unfortunate at this point, given that a couple others have come out recently.

Hopefully something that's not Oberheim. I just don't find them that interesting, but GForce seem to be well and truly stuck in an Obie rut. There are still some synths that need a decent emu - CS30/40 would stimulate my wallet.

It must be the new Moog that Softube forgot to release

I think I might have an idea, and posted it on their instagram. Thinking that the very short sound clip must have some sort of clue in it, I think it is the somewhat throaty sounding filter. That, combined with the text alluring to something quite rare, makes me think of the Synton Syrinx, which is known for that format-like filter sound. And it is rare and somewhat obscure, as only a few hundred were built.
I never had a Syrinx (I wish I had), but back in the Eighties Synton was the Dutch importer for Ensoniq and I bought my ESQ-1 from them. They also represented Fairlight at the time, but that thingy was obviously out of my price range
But I might be completely wrong of course. We'll see next week
Check this video to hear the Syrinx in action and compare it to the teaser clip:

Sounds good.
I didn't listen to the clip in the first post right away
, but it definitely puts a Matrix out of the running.
If it's the Synton Syrinx, I'm sure it'll have a polyphonic option, and hopefully the x-modifiers too.
I think I'd be happy with that one.

We can hope; it's got a little better chance of being a Matrix 6 (DCOs) than being a Matrix 12, but truthfully, it doesn't sound much like either of them unless they really warped the patch they used in the demo vid (in a good, stretched way) somehow. I kind of doubt that it's a Korg MS-20 as Korg keeps the lid pretty tight on their synths and who they allow (and help) to develop them (i.e., Arturia.) I'd truly love an amazing Matrix 12 or Xpander. (The Xpander is running about 7K on ebay now.)
