Hi everyone
I'm looking for a reverb that makes the highs shine (but all the frequencies themselves) that is like a very ethereal pad, smooth and pleasing to the ears, do you know of any? Thank you very much for your recommendations!

check out valhalla dsp's 'shimmer' plugin (or their 'vintage verb'; even the free! 'supermassive'.). great verbs and great pricing!

Black Hole and Supermassive immediately spring to my mind for quality.
Black Hole is iLok, Supermassive is both free and free of shit-arse copy protection by a shit-arse company. If you want an unbiased opinion

Supermassive is just an all around awesome plugin. For something nominally intended for huge reverbs, the range of sounds you can get with it is kind of staggering. I spent like half an hour the other day just playing around with all the different ways you can use low feedback, med/high density settings on drums to make sort of glitchy, reverse reverb-ish syncopated delays and shaping the tone and envelope with the warp knob.kritikon wrote: Sat Jan 18, 2025 5:15 am Black Hole and Supermassive immediately spring to my mind for quality.

Btw to the OP - I always thought Native Instruments Raum in Airy mode or whatever it's called has a really nice algorithm for this kind of thing, depending on how much shimmer/pitch shift you need. And like Super Massive, it's free.
Maybe take a look at Unfiltered Audio Silo too. Probably an unconventional recommendation as it's a granular effect at its core, but it's got a bunch of reverb algorithms and tons of great features that can be used for this, and (like all things Unfiltered Audio) has a bunch of other uses

I’m only listing plug-ins that I have worked with myself, and some of them may not be strictly reverbs alone. They may be multi-effects, but
I’m putting them here because sometimes a reverb with different types of delays or pitch-shifting can sound “celestial” and absolutely gorgeous to my ears. I hope that you find something you like.
Eventide - Blackhole Immersive
SoundBetter - Halo Effect & Butterfly Effect
Lese - Glow
Daniel Gergely - Emergence & Diffuse
ModeAudio - Airspace
Melda Production - MTurboReverb
Dawesome Music - LOVE (available at Tracktion Software)
Sinevibes - Albedo & Luminance
Stryman - BigSky
UJAM - UFX Reverb 2
SoundGhost - Scatter
United Plugins - Hyperspace by JMG Sound
Zynaptiq - Adaptiverb & Wormhole
Unfiltered Audio - TAILS & SILO
Native Instruments - Raum
Flowsonics - Intercosm
Baby Audio - Crystalline & Spaced Out
Sugar Bytes - Graindad
stw-audio - REFLEX-PRO-X
Polyverse Music - Comet
Lunacy Audio - BEAM
Arturia - Efx Fragments
Heavyocity - MicroFX Shimmer & VAST
Adam Szabo - Solaris
Audio Damage - Other Desert Cities

You know, when I see them in a list like that, I have to admit that it does seem a little over the top. It’s partly due to my ADHD, at least that’s what I tell myself to justify the expense lol. But seriously, I don’t drink, partake in substances, or spend money on expensive dinners out on the town.
I don’t even watch television or have any subscriptions for streaming services. Plug-ins are my guilty pleasure and how I reward myself for staying disciplined and working hard. I’m an advocate for working and playing like there’s no tomorrow, especially since tomorrow is never guaranteed.
Plus, I actually do use most of my gear in rotation throughout the year on all of my different projects, although I do have my favorites pre-loaded in Logic Pro templates for consistency. I REALLY love effects... it’s how I got my username waaay back in the day.
I was given the nickname “morphex” in 1993 by a dear friend who is no longer with us. He was a kind of mentor and I would crack him up because I always wanted to ‘add more effects’ to my recordings on a Tascam PortaStudio multi-track tape deck that I was using at the time.
He would look at me and with a heavy British accent would say “let me guess, you want more effects on it, don’t ya... more effects, more effects.” He labeled a track that I was trying to finish with Morphex as the artist name as an inside joke. And the nickname stuck, so I went with it to honor his memory. I used it for KVR and I’m using Morphex Audio for my sound design business as well. Lots of fun memories!!

First most of us here are like you, just loving playing with plugins, messing with gear and music.
I am 45, have been playing with music software for 25 years, still love it so much !
Second, talking about how you messed with FX and joked with your friend, that is something AI will never get, quirky jokes, local humour (I lived in the UK for 10y so I can imagine your friend's voice).
So rejoice in your guilty pleasures, plus you say you do make use of your plugins to make music and sound, makes me happy for you mate!

Yeah, I second the ususal Valhalla suspects, Delay, Room, Supermassive and Vintageverb.
If you would want more freakish added to it I recommend Infiltrator. The reverb/delay stuff I heard when I demoed it heavily influenced my purchase decision of this plugin. Good for lotsa surprises in the glitter.
