Missing Arpeggiator Features?
It appears as if the ACB software versions of the Juno-60, Juno-106, and JX-3P arpeggiators don't have a RND "Type"? Is that really the case or am I missing something?
Also, the ACB software version of the Jupiter-8 doesn't seem to have the ability to define the arpeggiator "Step" (e.g., 1/4, 1/8, 1/16, etc.). Is that ability really missing from the Jupiter-8's arpeggiator?
Thanks!

For some plugins, it was removed in the V2 update; as a matter of fact, even when the knob was there, it wasn't working for everyone - sure it wasn't working at all for me - IIRC Jon was able to confirm this.MDCragg wrote: Sat Jan 18, 2025 6:08 am Missing Arpeggiator Features?

Since then, it hasn't been fixed.
(Now, let me add, as a bitter side note, that I've been in software development for the past 25 years, and if me or any of my colleagues did break anything that vital in one of our products, we'd have everyone on our collective asses, like "drop whatever sh*t you're doing and fix this first". And they'd be in the right.)

It’s such a common feature in several other synth plugins that I’m surprised they can’t figure out a fix for it.

IIRC UVI has a manager users can download and use their plugins, but they also have a way to just download whatever plugin from the user’s account on their website. It would be better if Roland had something similar.IvyBirds wrote: Thu Jan 16, 2025 6:16 pmOr you know you could actually make RCM functionalJon at Roland wrote: Thu Jan 16, 2025 5:20 pmI know it was already mentioned but you can find the JC-120 in Software Instrument > Software Effects. That wouldn't be possible because Roland Cloud Manager is not just and installer but also the AUTHORIZER. Contray to UVI, which has a download manage that just downloads and the installer and installs the product, since the authorization is handled through iLOK.Examigan wrote: Sat Jan 18, 2025 1:23 pm IIRC UVI has a manager users can download and use their plugins, but they also have a way to just download whatever plugin from the user’s account on their website. But there are other applications that also handle authorization (like Native Access, from Native Instruments) that are way better. But Native Access only has to deal with the authorization ONCE. Once authorized, the product doesn't ask for any "reauthorization", like the infamous RCM.

I know about iLok and use it everyday. I just want something better for Roland.
I said "It would be better if Roland had something similar."
Maybe not iLok, but maybe something better.

Hey Marco, thanks for the response. That is absolutely insane! Roland charges top dollar for products that are missing the most basic bread-and-butter features. I'm losing hope in "Roland Cloud". The industry needs to go back to hardware (and since Roland isn't offering what people really want I'm saying the industry needs to go back to hardware NOT by Roland). The company's glory days are long in the past.vulpes777 wrote: Sat Jan 18, 2025 10:12 amFor some plugins, it was removed in the V2 update; as a matter of fact, even when the knob was there, it wasn't working for everyone - sure it wasn't working at all for me - IIRC Jon was able to confirm this.MDCragg wrote: Sat Jan 18, 2025 6:08 am Missing Arpeggiator Features?

I'm IT too. I worked for two of the Big Three automakers in Detroit.

The Juno-60 is also missing this, and the Juno-106 has the "Step" parameter but it's missing "Range".vulpes777 wrote: Sat Jan 18, 2025 10:12 amFor some plugins, it was removed in the V2 update; as a matter of fact, even when the knob was there, it wasn't working for everyone - sure it wasn't working at all for me - IIRC Jon was able to confirm this.MDCragg wrote: Sat Jan 18, 2025 6:08 am Missing Arpeggiator Features?

It's not the end of the world but it would be nice to have all the parameters in all of them... at least on the plug-out versions because the System-8 still has the knob there but it doesn't always work or do what the label says (even though the ring is lit).

sadly all of this shows that nothing can be shown/is released from Roland Cloud, only that they work on this.
and there are bugs, missing features etc. which are there for years. anyone still subscribed just supports sadly this current state. no one knows whats up with them but i somehow still have the feeling there are only a couple of people for Roland Cloud involved and/or maybe this is a dead horse trying to be kept alive as long as they can with minor efforts.
i unsubscribed a longer time now and im glad, i wasted 1 full year of subscription payment and also there it was said new things come out we got now the 3rd? year where still the missing features, bugs etcc. are persistent. i check this topic once a week or so and i might do it only once a month or once a year lol cause seems no news are missed here so far.....

Same, getting on for 2 years unsubbed and I don’t feel like I’ve missed anything other than burning the best part of 400 quid.
Just pop in occasionally to see what people are discussing/arguing about but it’s nearly always the same thing.

The Juno 106 is the same as it has always been so there is nothing changed there from v1 to v2.spacepluk wrote: Mon Jan 20, 2025 10:38 amThe Juno-60 is also missing this, and the Juno-106 has the "Step" parameter but it's missing "Range".vulpes777 wrote: Sat Jan 18, 2025 10:12 amFor some plugins, it was removed in the V2 update; as a matter of fact, even when the knob was there, it wasn't working for everyone - sure it wasn't working at all for me - IIRC Jon was able to confirm this.MDCragg wrote: Sat Jan 18, 2025 6:08 am Missing Arpeggiator Features?

The range is the arp type knob.
Wish they would use the same arp on all of the synths since the Jupiter and Juno 60 arp is useless.
