Don't listen to their opinions on the thing, just listen to the sound demos. It's a VST, what else is there besides the sound? It's not like it comes with a clunky key bed or something like that

well, a Bass-Station is a surprise
the first hardware synth i ever bought was the Bass-Station 1 in '94, cos i could actually afford it, think it was £349
that synth is on a bunch of my old record releases
then i bought a second hand DX7 in '96 and liked that a lot more
ditched my Atari ST/Cubase setup when i got a Windows pc and Cubase in 2000 and started hammering the vst's
i bought the Novation Bass-Station vst years ago, but never used it in anything
i'll be interested to try the GForce demo to see what they did with it.

And I threw one of my TB-303s in the bin because I couldn't find anyone who would take it off my hands.crimsonwarlock wrote: Tue Jan 21, 2025 11:02 amBack then, I gave away my Teisco 110F for freewintoid wrote: Tue Jan 21, 2025 10:54 am I traded a Bassstation in the 90s with a guy for an MS20 and an OSC Oscar. why on earth would they emulate a BassStation and not a BassStation II ?
also, Free for owners of a Fruity Loops keyboard but not for registered owners of BassStation 1 or 2 ?

Yeah that doesn't make sense at all, lol. If anyone is going to get it free surely it should be Bass Station owners?sqigls wrote: Tue Jan 21, 2025 11:54 am also, Free for owners of a Fruity Loops keyboard but not for registered owners of BassStation 1 or 2 ?

Didn't expect this one. Assume Novation initiated it. Simple, well-modelled emulations interest me, but after a quick test I haven't yet had the impulse to purchase. A BS2 emulation would have been more appealing.
*edit after much demoing I decided to grab it. GForce have done a nice job modelling and updating the BS. I might have purchased a Launchkey MK4 if it had aftertouch!

A new V-Station might tempt me.

So they can release a BS II in the future! These companies have to have somewhere to go.sqigls wrote: Tue Jan 21, 2025 11:54 am why on earth would they emulate a BassStation and not a BassStation II ?

I don't know the real reasons, but the original is the classic BassStation, because of it's sound. BS2 is a bit different.sqigls wrote: Tue Jan 21, 2025 11:54 am why on earth would they emulate a BassStation and not a BassStation II ?
There was also a SuperBassStation, had one in 2000s.
