I owe you and Korg an apology

.
I went through my old machine and found a spread sheet with every online purchase I'd ever made up to 202, There I found the registration info for the M1 and Wavestation.
Got the Korg user.net coupon and applied it to Software pass. Long story short all my KLC plugins are working again,

I've been playing with wavestation for the last two days rekindling old memories.

I contacted them yesterday because whenever I take my computer to rehearsal, all my Korg plugins go into demo mode and play the default patch. They got back to me in about an hour! Tonight we'll see if the fix works.

This happens to me now and then too. It's as if they were in demo mode for a short while. I have to close everything and start Software Pass.

And one of my goals some day is to run Windows software in a non-networked virtual machine on Linux, so all this phoning home thing is undesirable for me.

I'd be happy for a non-networked windows machine If I could load it properly. I hate the cloud and subscription services.

I never seen this problem but i don't use the Software Pass and I download and install my plugins manually from my korg id account and Authorize my korg Plugins with the offline option.
After that I take a backup of the Licensed folder that still works fine after a OS update which makes it fully offline without any need for internet connection when i re-install my plugins.

Why? If tis takes me a month to sort out, it will still have been less work than installing everything manually. I love these plugin managers, I wish everyone had them.

With or without internet access?

I am assured by Korg that there is no phoning home, that KSP creates a license file on your drive that the plugins check on load.

BTW, their suggested fix didn't work so I will try the next thing and see what happens next week at rehearsal.

It isn't more work to Re install my Korg plugins that way and everything works perfectly after i have installed everything.

It is not that hard to Copy the Korg Folder you backed up from the Roaming Folder after your plugins have been registered offline and Paste it back in there after a re install of windows and go to your Korg installers folder and install them manually.

It takes less than 5 minutes to get up and running with my method but go ahead and use days to get something fixed by uninstalling and re installing the Korg pass and the plugins until it is working again.

It happens with a wifi usb dongle that connects after booting, but I don't know if it's related. It happens now and then. Once every 2-3 months.

Compared to installing and launching the KSR, pressing one button and then moving on to something else while it all happens without further input from you, it's a huge amount of annoying work.

Maybe OK if you only have those plugins but when you need to install more than 250, those little blocks of 5 minutes add up to days and days worth of someone's free time.

I had way more trouble with Korg plugins before KSR than I do now and it often took days to get a useless response.

I have been meaning to find this thread for a while now, so I can thank you for your perfect, little tip. Running KSP at rehearsal, with internet access, solved my problem instantly and, better still, it hasn't recurred since. It seems it just needed to expand the license to cover the different configuration and now it's all hunky-dory. Thanks again.

Until Feb 10, anyone who owns KORG Collection 4 can upgrade for $49. I felt $99 wasn't worth it for just the 2600, and now I have a reason!

Post

own 3 plugins and iPad Gadget stuff and no upgrade path. wish Korg would change that. have to wait for a deep discount on full new bundle purchase.

oh I didn't see that the full collection is on sale for $199. hmmm dep thinking to do now, might have to finally pull the trigger.

thanks for posting I didn't see it and it wasn't on my radar.
