I'm looking forward to this for over a decade so this looks very promising. Hopefully it will be soon .

From the screenshot, it looks like....Zebra2, but with an updated UI. Not much to get excited about yet IMO, although I'm sure there's much more to come.

Yes, that much was always to be expected. The concept of Zebra isn't changing, but the available components, and the UI should be much improved, have more to offer, and be nicer to work with...cryophonik wrote: Thu Jan 23, 2025 11:51 pm From the screenshot, it looks like....Zebra2, but with an updated UI.

I am alpha/betatesting it and it’s amazing and it’s still early stages ..( can’t say more )cryophonik wrote: Thu Jan 23, 2025 11:51 pm From the screenshot, it looks like....Zebra2, but with an updated UI. Not much to get excited about yet IMO, although I'm sure there's much more to come.
Have a look at zebralette 3 , learn the new curve system and additive engines -osc effects .
Then realise that zebra 3 will have all of that times 4 , analogue modelled filters , fm etc ..
It’s sets a new bar , it’s an amazing achievement and a sounddesigner’s dream .

From my years of using u-he synths, I’ve become very appreciative of his attention to detail, usability, and most importantly, the impeccable sound quality that has so many people eagerly waiting for Zebra 3.
Personally, I find it very frustrating when there’s a ton of hype surrounding new, highly-anticipated plug-ins that end up partially crippled or functioning more like a work in progress. Granted, most software is a work in progress.
But I’m referring to synths that are advertised to include “insert whatever feature here” and then it’s released without said features, and you find out that they’re supposed to be included in a future update with the release version functioning more like a beta.
It comes across like false advertising. And practices like that always feels manipulative to me. Urs has continued to be up front with the community about Zebra 3’s projected timeline (or lack there of), being cautious of committing to deadlines that are simply not practical for him.
Obviously, we’re getting closer to the release date. And based on previous experiences, I am confident that Zebra 3 will be everything that we’ve been waiting for, along with some twists that maybe we haven’t thought of yet.
After all, this is part of his life’s work, so he’ll release it at just the right time. And we’ll be the lucky beneficiaries of a talented team of creative professionals. The wait will be totally worth it.

Good lord.. zebralette 3 already brings my poor old CPU to its knees. I'm excited about zebra 3 but I'll definitely need a computer upgrade.gentleclockdivider wrote: Fri Jan 24, 2025 12:36 amI am alpha/betatesting it and it’s amazing and it’s still early stages ..( can’t say more )cryophonik wrote: Thu Jan 23, 2025 11:51 pm From the screenshot, it looks like....Zebra2, but with an updated UI. Urs actually shared a screenshot any a lot of details / answers in text here already: viewtopic.php?t=617800
So while Zebra 3 looks much like Zebra 2, in reality its a new synth not just an upgrade. Most (all?) of the modules have been recreated and often re-thought completely. I would expect that a lot of experience and ideas of the last 10-15 years (and other u-he plugins) goes into that one.

I am very bored of the ridiculous slow progress of U-He products in all directions. Procrastinating with release of HW and plugin formats, but not get it managed to tell a proper ETA and shifting expected release year for year. Same with Uhbik 2 release. Most unfocussed company and worst project management ever!

By the time Zebra 3 is released, it will be significantly more efficient than Zebralette 3 public beta.Teezdalien wrote: Fri Jan 24, 2025 1:16 am
