Hi :)

I have 2 headphones connected to my RME BABY FACE FS PRO
but only 1 physical knob that controls the volume of both headphones.
I want to make a digital aux/send in RME TOTALMIX to be able
to control volume of the headphones separately.

Does anyone here know how to do it?
Thanks in advance :)

Yeah, with TotalMix you can't. The idea of the BabyFace phone outputs is that you use either one, not both. Both the 6.3mm and 3.5mm phones outputs are hard-wired to outputs 3-4.

Though there is one way which definitely works: insert a stereo pot meter in the analog signal path. That is a box with a volume control between the audio interface and the headphones. Google for "headphones passive volume control". Example product: SubZero sz-hc1, but there must be loads of others.
Or look into a Headphone Distribution Amp where one signal is shared and each gets its own volume control.

We are the KVR collective. Resistance is futile. You will be assimilated. Image

Level of each output can still be set by Totalmix, so balance them or even control them from there, I think.

I have an headphone amp that is made for hifi amp recording out, about 0.3 V I think.
- which is close to -10 dBV

So I just set level -12 dB for that output in Totalmix. I use the Digiface USB.
- so keep it from making overs

So if you have them now on a fader in Totalmix, just control them there.
- or balance them so ok to use both with a level that suits each phone on panel
