The current no. of posts will be updated on the profile and visible no matter how far back you go. You don't see the counter, only the total.Harry_HH wrote: Fri Jan 03, 2025 4:33 pm How can you have two ”81 posts since 14 Jan, 2014” in a row - shouldn’t the later be 82?

I love the potential of Falcon, but why is there so much empty space on the UI ? Couldn't they make the font bigger and at least give us a fighting chance of seeing the information at a reasonable size, ........for those who don't have 20 / 20 vision ?

If I have two, or more, Falcon instances active at the same time, there are bugs. "Clear Multi", "Create New Program" and other commands don't work in the active instance, but in that instance that was added last - for example you click "New Program" in instance A and it deletes the program in instance B. Even more wrong - I saved a preset and it saved the preset from the wrong instance! It's like the instance intercommunication has problems.
I work with Falcon for several monthes and that's the first time I see this behaviour. Is it a known issue? Maybe a user fault? It seems like a major bug and I can't imagine being the first one to find it.
I will send it to the UVI support.

This is such a great deal but I don't have the space and I don't want iLok near my UVI Workstation. I wouldn't even download the free expansion bank because they want it tethered to iLok. I'm wondering if Falcon would just be a part of the Cloud plugin thing. That was the main selling point to me about Synth Anthology - no iLok BS. (Was wondering why the Falcon demo presets were empty in it.)

Shit, that's an insane price. I paid $300 aud and thought that was a bargain. Honestly, if anyone is on the fence, for the above proce, I would absolutely dive in. Despite its ridiculous UI, its actually fun to use and can do things no other synth really can.dionenoid wrote: Wed Jan 29, 2025 4:03 pm Falcon sale, never seen it this cheap : https://www.image-line.com/specials/uvi-falcon/
My main complaint with Falcon is just how out of control complex patches feel. Phase Plant can be similarly wild, but with the ability to group/hide modulator, one is able to keep track of things pretty simply. Multilayered patches in Falcon just end up totally impenetrable after a point, even if you name each mod source.

Afaik all UVI stuff does require ilok so not sure what other poster means... Ilok is annoying but not that big of an issue. One way it works against devs is having to ilok stuff just to demo software. I basically won't demo in this context, and generally don't actually purchase if I can't demo. Anyway, not going to open this can of worms further!

It doesn't if you get the FL Pro plan. It along with Thorus and some other stuff authorizes through the FL Plugin Manager. (The thing is if you want to add an expansion pack it requires iLok to auth the expansion.) There's even UAD stuff that you can authorize through FL. I did get some UAD synths, but they require iLok.
This is the thing. Why doesn't someone code an installer keyfile that you download with your software that generates a matched auth code with your software and will stop working if copied more than once?
(Because then they couldn't sell $50 USB drives)

As a long time FL Studio customer, I really dislike the fact that Image-Line now own UVI.
UVI are a company whose plugins I always avoid, due to their reliance upon iLok.
And even though, Image-Line gifted me a free (NFR) 2 year subscription to their FL Cloud Pro service, I still have not downloaded a single UVI plugin from it.
Even though Image-Line claim that many UVI plugins available through FL Cloud Pro don't require iLok, I have learned never to trust any software which was once iLok-only and subsequently claims not to be. Sonible plugins being one prime reason why.
Even though Sonible claim their plugins no longer require iLok, when you check deeper through their FAQs, you find that they reveal many Windows PC users will still need to install iLok licence manager to prevent serious "slow loading" issues. Which was exactly what I myself experienced when using them on Windows and which their own Customer support confirmed as being a known issue, to which the only available workaround was to install iLok Licence Manager after all (for "so-called" iLok-less versions of their plugins.)
Other developers who also for a period offered non-iLok versions of their plugins, reverted back to iLok-only later on.
So I don't trust developers like Sonible and I don't trust UVI. I really wish Image-Line had never bought them and instead purchased a different developer who didn't impose iLok DRM.

What is your issue with iLok (the online version)? I see this complaint fairly often, but I've never really understood why.
