Is Vitamin really #1? or is there some good competition?

Hi everyone, I ask because, at least for kicks, the Rbass doesn't compare to the alternatives from Devious Machines, Plugin Alliance or Denise Audio. However, the Punctuate replaces it very well, not being exactly the same type of plugin. So I would like to know if there is any plugin of the same type or another one that replaces Vitamin, because the thing is that to achieve the strength that I want, I put 2 vitamins, however, the crossover of bands determines a lot the shape of the kick. Sometimes I don't want a neck, not even a short one, but putting two practically doesn't allow me to do much about it. Thank you very much for your recommendations and your time.

I think if one instance doesn't offer you (more than) enough gain per band, then something else must be very wrong with whatever you send through it...

I guess the Vitamin compresses too, in that case that would be the difference of adding 2. When I put one, I raise the subass, lows and low mid area up to more than 20, for example. Even though the kick is quite strong, anyway when listening to reference kicks, it still doesn't sound that strong; the difference is small but enough to notice that my kick sounds a bit weaker. The solution came when I put 2; and even, it would be logical that raising with 1 more than 20 vitamins haha in the bands, with 2 I would divide it in half, but it is not like that, I raise 4 and 6, to give some figure, that's why I suppose the compression (upward and downward?) as difference to reach that fortitude.jens wrote: Sun Feb 02, 2025 1:21 am I think if one instance doesn't offer you (more than) enough gain per band, then something else must be very wrong with whatever you send through it...![]()

vitamin is a fav of producers for a long time, doubt anything else is "better" than it, just different.
you could try wavesfactory spectre but it's just sat not comp as well

Voxengo HarmoniEQ, TDR Nova GE in "+" processing mode, Pulsar Poseidon. Don't know exactly what type of processing Vitamin does, but I suspect it's some sort of chebyshev partial with some dynamics, maybe even just tied to RMS. HarmoniEQ is probably the closest but you'd do well to read the manual/tooltips if you want to be able to more closely match it. Nova GE can have internal nonlinearities in the filters with the "+" processing quality and you can add some clean yet very responsive compression with lookahead enabled & short attack/release times. Poseidon is a 4 band analog EQ but the saturation is quite complex and has some dynamics to it. You'll have to deal with iLok with Poseidon unfortunately, but the plugin is very good.
