BONES wrote: Sun Feb 02, 2025 1:23 am That's weird because it should just work in Demo mode until the trial period expires. When I was having trouble with it losing the license at rehearsal, it always worked perfectly well in demo mode, until it decided my trial period was over.
No no i can't download demo installer itself, as i understand this can be done thru manager only or i'm wrong ?
Yep, the demo versions are through the Software Pass.

(but no changes \ no log-on in Software Pass, all the same).
How hell to install trial lol

Tried delete cookies \ relog \ vpn = nope.
Do really software pass works for anyone ? v1.2.17 / Win10 here
I just downloaded the Modwave demo through the Software Pass and it works here. I have Windows 10.

Do you always use a VPN? Maybe try without it and see if it works.

When I open the Software Pass it shows a list of what is in my account. Below that (scroll down with mouse wheel, or the tiny scroll bar on the right side) it shows anything I don't have as a demo version.

I have Collection 4 and my price to upgrade is still $99. Weird.
I have the older Collection 2/Special Bundle v2 and my price is $199 to get to v5.

Hey folks, regarding the Korg ARP 2600 -- Is anybody else noticing that the "import..." command in the main file menu (the one opened in the far top right of the UI) is greyed out at all times / can't be used ??? The manual is no help, says nothing about Import being inactive. I'll submit a support ticket but might get a faster response here, any help is appreciated, cheers.

EDIT: Solved it, ha: you have to be on the LIBRARIAN tab for the import option to be selectable :dog:

Well, I installed today to evaluate, my first impressions on the ARP2600. The good.

* It sounds good.
* For some this is a bad thing, for me it's desirable: it always uses the same CPU no matter the polyphony, even if zero. So no surprises about CPU consumption on busy parts.
* The UI is one step ahead of previous korg stuff and especially the odyssey, which needs a UI rework.
* Lots of FX and it even has a FX version!

The not so good (for me):

* I use the (undented) mousewheel instead of drag and dropping. My usual workflow isn't possible as of now because the mouswheel movement is too fine. The most desirable (for me) would be for the mousewheel movement to be pretty coarse and only be fine by pressing shift (as e.g. on U-he synths). But hey at least it works, most of Korg plugins ignore the mouswheel (except e.g. the Prophecy). They really need an UI overhaul so one gets a feeling of uniformity.
* The dropdowns don't work with the mouse wheel. Easily fixed on JUCE. It's just passing a boolean to the controls.
* The FX version is mono, but I guess it had to be this way if it's routed as a voice.

And a FR, a FX bypass button on the librarian would be handy. Tomorrow I will try to program it.

Wow thank you all for the heads up on this upgrade offer! 49$ is a complete no-brainer! Even though I wasn't too impressed with the Arp2600 it's still a great plugin to explore and for the price it now feels fair.

Korg Collection is a supperr bundle.
One thing i miss:
Better install management software:
I know they will not make it, but how awsome would be to install korg plugins like you install Arturia or NI plugins

Post

I actually hate those installer manager methods and I'd rather just have normal .exe/.msi installers on Windows and a .pkg on Mac. KSP is some kind of funky middle ground where it's a downloader that mostly just downloads those normal installers and starts them, and then also adds the licensing info for your account in a prefs location on your machine.

I'd rather just have the installers directly and have the plugins handle their licensing. As you can see from this thread, and basically every other thread with any other company that has a VST plugin installer/manager, the managers go wrong all the time and require troubleshooting and maintenance and clearing/resetting/whatever. I've had trouble with every single manager I've ever used, including the "good" ones. I've never had trouble with the basic boring installers from Fabfilter, u-he, and the like.

I only really like the software installation/activation managers if/when they are done well (since most are not, imho).

An example of one which does work well, is Kilohearts.

The collection seems to be lacking the synths I'd want to get. I already have the Arp2600 (Arturia) and the Odyssey (GForce) and the Legacy Collection. I'm waiting for the multipoly vsti to be released.

The MDE-X plugin has one of the coolest formant filters I ever heard, and the M1 plugin is great for 90s and 00s techno and video game-type music. It may be a pipe dream, but I really want a DW8000 or DSS-1 plugin in KORG Collection 6. The Maxi KORG, PS series, and/or RADIAS would also be interesting, but please no Poly-800.

Post

I've got the M1, the Wavestation, Odyssey and 2600 but the cheapest way for me to upgrade to the Collection is $199 so I'm passing. I wish more and more companies offered dynamic discounts as it just feels like they leave money on the table. At $149, maybe I'd be in. $199? No way. I've already got my favorites from the collection.
