saturation/distortion with excellent anti-aliasing

I just discovered that basically all of my saturation/distortion plugins cause quite a lot of aliasing. But I also learned that Fabfilter's Saturn has quite good anti-aliasing. I don't have Saturn, and it's fairly expensive. Does anyone know of another distortion that prevents aliasing as effectively, but cheaper?

It depends what you already have and on your budget too. A distortion? A clipper? A saturator?
ap Shaper? StandardClip? V-Clip? (Free) T-Saturator? (Free) Bandbreite? I don't know...

Since Aliasing is a part of digital Audio and can only be pushed back into the in - audible, why not just go Aliasing free?

Decapitator is one of the most use in production. Can you really hear the alaising ?JO512 wrote: Sun Feb 02, 2025 7:06 am I just discovered that basically all of my saturation/distortion plugins cause quite a lot of aliasing. it's quite ok up to around 7-8k, better without "punish"
after 10k it gets to foldback heaven...

At $29, this is an easy buy and probably something just about everyone should have. Takes time to tweak and explore to get the most out of it.

Thanks everyone for the advice! I've been trying out apShaper and it looks like it performs quite well. I'll have to try some of the other suggested plugins like The Scream, Kelvin, and so on also. I am also tempted to try what El°HYM suggested and use a pedal or two.
It depends. With high notes, yes, especially if I bend them, whereupon I get all that formant-like ya ya ya stuff. With lower notes and complex chords and whatnot, even if the sound is fairly bright, with a lot of high frequency harmonics that fold back, it isn't so obvious. With better control of aliasing, even more complex stuff perhaps sounds a bit more open, but I probably wouldn't be able to tell in a blind test. It is only with high, more isolated notes that the problem is most obvious.

Klanghelm SDRR has three quality settings, and the highest one is good enough for me in the vast majority of cases. It's also impossible cheap for how good it is (like all Klanghelm stuff).
