Interesting.
I thought this was a bit confusing though:
“UNSTABLE is in no way intended to be a CS-80 emulator but still probably closer to the real hardware than anything out there.“

Given that they put Moog filters on it, I wonder what hardware it's supposed to be closer to..?Examigan wrote: Sun Feb 02, 2025 8:17 pm “UNSTABLE is in no way intended to be a CS-80 emulator but still probably closer to the real hardware than anything out there.“

To be fair the CS80 could do with better filters and oscillators. As to which is best, the one with the best ring mod, so the Yamaha I suspect.

Wow that does sound good. PolyAT? I see a bunch of AFT modulators, so I'm assuming so.

Does sound good, nice FX too, reverb sounds lush.
Quite the boast too, saying better than most things out there, confidence haha !
The UI could do with some work, also felt CPU usage isn't low.
But really good work from the dev.

Works fine in my AVLinux. Sounds great at such an early release...bright future ahead
if they keep at it!
Maybe selling great preset packs can help with funding?
Cheers

Yeah, I really like this simple style, non skeuomorphic design. Maybe though some grouping or border highlighting/brightness difference of areas would be helpful, to visually e.g. differ volume adsr from filter, or adsr from the rest of the section, etc.

Yes it's nice someone finally made a "My Little Pony" GUI aimed at 8 year old girls........
I tried the plugin for a few minutes yesterday and it didn't really impress me but the one thing I got from the video I linked to above is proof positive of what a horrid sounding synth the CS80 is when all the post production is stripped away.
But I realize the CS80 is worshipped here for whatever reason so to each his own......
