Problem.
Everything works great... until I turn off my PC. Once I turn it back on, it stops working. Any ideas??
Installation is smooth, no red text, the script runs to completion, all using admin privileges etc...
AMD Ryzen 9 9950X Stock Settings
Win 11 Home 24H2
Asus Prime x870-P
32G Kingston

You might have to check the Event log to see if anything is being changed either during shutdown or startup. Of course, this assumes nothing else on the machine is changing that you haven't noticed yet.Debutante wrote: Thu Dec 19, 2024 9:07 pm Problem.

After upgrading from Win10 to Win11 24H2 the installation of the drivers "EmuPMX_PCDrv_US_2_30_00_BETA drivers " failed to add the soundcard E-MU 1212m to the devices. The installation is blocked by Windows group policy.
This solved it for me:
Group Policy > Local Computer > Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates > System > Device Installation > Restrictions ... Device installation > Prevent installation of devices with these device IDs => set to Disabled
@Martin please add this information to the first page.

That should help some people. Thanks, Markus. But I assume you're asking another Steve to add this info to the first page, right? I'm not the OP. I don't see his name posted in the initial thread, so I can't help you with his name.Markus2 wrote: Fri Jan 24, 2025 10:33 am After upgrading from Win10 to Win11 24H2 the installation of the drivers "EmuPMX_PCDrv_US_2_30_00_BETA drivers " failed to add the soundcard E-MU 1212m to the devices. Win11 24H2 has a BUG (after every boot/reboot Volume is set to 100%) which is confirmed by Microsoft working on it https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/top ... 2ffc019258Markus2 wrote: Fri Jan 24, 2025 10:33 am After upgrading from Win10 to Win11 24H2 the installation of the drivers "EmuPMX_PCDrv_US_2_30_00_BETA drivers " failed to add the soundcard E-MU 1212m to the devices. Thats may be the reason why the E-MU installation is blocked.

I haven't had a chance to look at the Microsoft issue (and I'm not running Win11, so I couldn't test it anyway). But my internal E-MU 1820m is always at "100%" volume, even though technically you can't adjust it via Windows, anyway. Also, that Microsoft issue seems to point to "external USB audio" interfaces, and not necessarily internal ones (which are more common for E-MU stuff). Still, if it helps, that's great!

Just like everything else in life, if you ignore it long enough, it will go away.

Having problems with ASIO mode on the E-MU1616M PCI-e sound card?
I can't record in ASIO mode in Sound Forge Pro 17 (x64) at all.
While in Adobe Audition 21 I can assign a channel in ASIO mode and I can record.
I need it for digitizing master tapes. Since the PR99 has balanced inputs and outputs and the E-MU has balanced inputs and outputs. Thank you in advance for any help or advice.
Bestr regards,
tobra

Does ASIO appear as an option in Sound Forge 17? I'm not sure which version I have now (I'll check, but I think it's SF16), but I haven't had a problem with it.
If ASIO does appear as an option, what happens when you select it and try to record? Do you get any error messages? And if you record the audio in Adobe Audition and save it, can Sound Forge play it via ASIO?
As you probably know, any of the driver modes available in Sound Forge will give you the same bit-depth and sample rate of whatever you would have recorded with ASIO; ASIO doesn't offer better-sounding audio or do anything else to the sound or audio file.

Yes, material recorded in Adobe Audition is played in SF 17 There is no data on errors. If ASIO does appear as an option, what happens when you select it and try to record? Do you get any error messages? And if you record the audio in Adobe Audition and save it, can Sound Forge play it via ASIO?
Yes, I know that there are no differences, but E-MU has a problem, if the computer has more than 4GB of RAM, it cannot transfer to wav.As you probably know, any of the driver modes available in Sound Forge will give you the same bit-depth and sample rate of whatever you would have recorded with ASIO; ASIO doesn't offer better-sounding audio or do anything else to the sound or audio file.
