Since it's been over 2 years since it's been mentioned on this thread it's worth restating that Cracklefield by SZCZ is one of the best if not the best generative sequencers ever made.

Indeed the Strum and Repeater parameters in Chord Generator are superior to Chordjam. Chord Generator has one more voice (Bass) for a total of 6 voices. This Bass voice can be transposed to any key, allowing flexibility in chord variations. In addition, Chord Generatir has an interesting “Gospel” mode that ssenyially doubles the top 5 voices up and octave, for a total of 11 voices.kraster wrote: Tue Dec 10, 2024 11:49 amIndeed he did.

I believe it was originally his idea. There's a M4L device by him that is the original concept.
I much prefer Chord generator over Chordjam. I find Audiomodern plugins too convoluted in general.
The strum (which is essentially a delay) combined with the repeats is great for more natural arpeggios.
I also prefer the more Scaler like layout for the chords. You can see all chords at once at a glance.
However, Chordjam has a generative chord sequencer and 16 pads, whereas Chord Generator has no generative sequencer and only 12 pads. In addition, Chordjam has much superior chord progression system.
On the hand, both Chord Generator and Chordjam need much more flexibility in
user-defined modification to existing chords and chord progressions.
I find with both plugins I run into limitations to want I want to do pretty quickly.

It’s interesting that Scaler 3 now doesn’t install under “Plugin Boutique” but “Scaler Music” and I had to register on a whole new www.scalermusic.com website rather than just download directly from PB’s site.
I’m hoping such a well used plugin helps to highlight the multichannel MIDI plugin handling issues in Live and spurs Ableton on to do something about it.

Cheaper at APD ($24)
https://audioplugin.deals/product/midi- ... diocipher/
Can't figure out how useful it would be from the videos. There doesn't seem to be a demo version so that you can try it out, which is a bit of a red flag in my opinion.

Predictor is a plug-in and app that generates notes, triads and voicings with simple clicks. It works by learning from existing MIDI files to predict new notes and chords.
Ideal for sparking fresh ideas or breaking through creative blocks.
It comes with an integrated MIDI library, but you can also load any MIDI file you like and Predictor will learn from it.
Important Note: Pro Tools is not supported.

I bought it - it doesn't seem to send midi out of itself directly, requiring record>drag+drop, hope that changes at some point.

Let me put it this way: if it had a demo I wouldn't have bought it as it stands. It feels too random and unstructured, and without direct midi out I find it awkward to use. It has scope for potential happy accident territory although I'm yet to land on anything that doesn't sound like a cat walking over a key-locked midi controller. If sampleson update it then I'll revisit it but I can't see me firing this up again until then.

Oh, and it has completely crashed ableton live a couple of times now, despite my setup being generally rock solid.
