I think my dream instrument is Zenology Pro interface with Falcon sound engine.
Here's what I really like about Zenology:
- partial-based workflow - select from a library of base sounds, and arrow buttons to navigate them. Super quick to audition and select layers
- view all params for a single partial at once, or one set of params for all partials (e.g. filter)
- it’s fast to work with
That's really it... the major limitation is that it doesn't load samples. I would like to have sample maps saved to my hard drive, and be able to cycle through those sample maps the same way Zenology cycles through PCM sets.
Is there anything like that out there?
Any instrument kind of like Zenology Pro, but can load samples?

Synthmaster 3 is similar in some ways to what you mentioned.

How about using a sampler alongside Zenology? TAL-Sampler for example allows quick audition with arrow keys (just click on the "preview" button).
Edit: It also has 4 layers and an "ALL" section for viewing the parameters of the 4 layers at once.
