Oh on the fine tune thing, yeah we have an open issue (https://github.com/baconpaul/six-sines/issues/119) and a related request (https://github.com/baconpaul/six-sines/issues/213) to add a coarse tune. I'll probably do it as an in-panel knob so top knob stays fine but in panel you also ge a +/- 24 semis knob and either can be a mod target.

Was on my list for yesterday but spent day chasing bugs in au instead. Will get to it this week

baconpaul wrote: Sun Feb 02, 2025 3:46 pm Alright the keypress entry thing is fixed after chatting with a few other friendly devs in clap and juce land. You can grab a version in the nightly https://github.com/baconpaul/six-sines/ ... ag/Nightly. I tested live 11 and live 12 windows. I didn't have my S1 NFR on the windows box so I didn't test there but I am confident the fix will work. That nightly also has UI scaling for those of you with smaller screens.
Just tried, it works in the clap version now, thank you for fixing it so quickly :) (Studio One 7, Windows 11)

VST3 version now working in both DAWs. Thanks heaps and appreciating the other recent additions as well.
Parameter value entry from keyboard seems to have dropped off again in the 1.0.5 nightly.

1.0.5 doesn’t have the fix - damnit I should have included it there! The nightly does

I’ll make a 1.0.6 if you want but the nightly has all the other fixes and new features

I've decided to make some little videos to give you a head start on working with Six Sines. I was a bit confused at first and would've wanted to see something like those. So...there you have them:

Six Sines - Part 1: First Steps

Six Sines - Part 2: Amplitude Modulation:

Taron - these are fantastic. Thank you

I'm having trouble recording the pitch wheel when using Six Sines in Studio One 7. The pitch bend works in real-time when I play, but when I record, it doesn't seem to be captured. I tried recording pitch bend with other synths, and it works fine, so the issue seems to be specific to Six Sines.

I’ve also tried:

Checking if automation is recorded instead of MIDI data.
Copying pitch bend data from another synth.
Manually drawing pitch bend automation.
Nothing seems to work. Has anyone else experienced this? Is there a setting I’m missing, or could this be a bug?

By the way, I'm not great at sound design—I usually rely on presets and tweak them a bit—so I'm struggling quite a bit with this challenge. Any help would be really appreciated!

Thanks!
One thing that comes to mind. Is your pitch bend midi on the same channel as your notes?

If not can you export a midi file from session with pitch bend that doesn’t render and I can look.

I wonder if s1 is converting pitch bend to a note expression or moving the midi track when recorded or some such. Or of course if I just have a dumb bug.

Oh also clap or vst3?

I closed both these issues last night and the nightly build has in the fine tune panel a fine and coarse knob. The coarse knob lets you do a 24semi plus minus global tune including with modulation

@baconpaul Could you also link the nightly builds in your project description?

Great guide Talon!

I was about to skip this month as the synth seemed a bit too complicated to operate at first and a bit unwelcoming but since seeing your videos well I may very well give it a try after all.

Thanks a bunch  :hail:

You asked the right question: CLAP or VST3?

So, I tried playing the same notes and using the pitch wheel with:
1 - Six Sines (CLAP) → the pitch wheel doesn't work
2 - Surge XT (CLAP) → the pitch wheel doesn't work
3 - Six Sines (VST3) → the pitch wheel works
4 - Surge XT (VST3) → the pitch wheel works

It looks like a Studio One 7 issue rather than a plugin issue.
Do you think I should report this to PreSonus?
Great

Yes please file a bug report with presonus and if you don’t mind if they give you a bug or issue number let me know and ill also try and back channel it to the team there who did clap (we should do both)

Appreciate your patience. I promise six sines doesn’t exist just to find bugs :)

I thought I had linked it in my first reply and on the GitHub but if missed a spot let me know.

But the link is https://github.com/baconpaul/six-sines/ ... ag/Nightly
