How to achieve a vocal sound like sub urban

Hi everyone! I’m trying to achieve a vocal sound similar to Sub Urban, especially in songs like 'Spring Fever' or 'Sick Of You'. I like how his vocals sound bright and wide.

I’m using Ableton 11 with a Shure PGA27 microphone and a Behringer UM2 interface. I've tried compression and EQ, but I’m struggling to get the same polished sound

If anyone has tips on specific techniques or effects to use, I’d really appreciate it! Thanks!

Lookup Jaycen Joshua vocal chain it's as good a place as any to try.

Otherwise
1. Use manual gain changes and volume automation curves to level out the vocals.
2. A good preamp plug in (any from UAD)
3. A good LA2A which is great for vocals
4. A broad strokes EQ to boost the vocal how you want it
5. A clean surgical EQ for cutting away and what you don't want and to help sit in the mix

Reverb and delays too many styles to suggest a single one. Jaycen Joshua has a good pop vocal approach worth looking up.

I hear that slurry mumble-trap thing but what makes it stand out the way that you notice is:
a) many vocal takes, doubles, backings etc.
b) careful EQ to clear thickness and bring sweetness
c) reverb
d) keeping it in-front of the music bed

One trick used a lot in this type of thing (and in much modern stuff) is to have a duplicated track, noise gated then stuck through a bright heavy distortion. Layer this up with the other tracks, but really low in the mix so it's almost subliminal, but adds bite.

Reverbs are generally short-ish and more 'ambience type' with thickness and depth often coming through layering, and often a touch of slapback delay (always good for depth without using a lot of reverb).

Hello there,
I think to get that one isn't too complicated.
Here's what I would use: gainstaging pluging, autotune, vocal menace, any chorus vst, fresh air (slate).

First i would set the level to a decent volume so auto-tune ( I normally use bx tune) can detect the pitch better.
Then in Vocal Menace adjust the compression to taste, pull "sheen" up to 50-70%, setting "cup" to 10-30% to get rid of some of the lowend and adjust the wash and call section to taste.
If it's still too clean add some chorus to it. if you need even more crispness you can add "Fresh Air" and add some "air". If there are some syllables are popping out too much either adjust the compression or put a de-esser before "Fresh Air".
