Manley Voxbox - Intermittent Audio Dropout/Distortion [Expert Ears Needed]

I got a used Manley Voxbox off Reverb and there seems to be occasional dropouts such as this:

The only fix is to cycle power and then who knows when the next time it strikes.

Has anybody experienced something like this before? Is it specifically a tube replacement issue or something more complex?

That’s a bummer. There’s definitely a dropout, but I don’t think you need expert ears to confirm that. Have you popped it open to see if anything is loose or disconnected, which can happen during shipping? How well was it packed when you received it?

The packing was lackluster for such an expensive unit. Lots of bubble wrap but it wasn’t super tight in the container. I have yet to open it up but might have to

I was hoping someone knew what the issue could be from the style of dropout, it’s a particular sound, to my ears anyway.

I’ve never owned a Manley, so I can’t be much help. There are a few other people here who might have some good insight, but you might find more users with direct experience over on Gearspace, if you haven’t already posted there yet. Hope you get it sorted, though. The VB is a dream machine.
