UAD now charging users for native licenses (even if you own the DSP version)

The passive-aggressive guy they've got assigned to social media hasn't been helping them out since the ruckus last winter about them cutting prices and leaving long-time buyers out in the cold.
With the $10 charge now he's saying "we added external sidechain" and treating people like they're toddlers for objecting to UA going back on their prior statements. If UA simply said "we spoke too aggressively before, circumstances demand that we charge a small fee to convert some DSP plug-ins to native" that would be much less objectionable than pretending that the addition of external sidechain to decade old algorithms is a new product.

Check your offers tab in your account. I just got an upgrade to Ultimate 13 for $199 and although I had a lot of UA plugins, I didn't own Ultimate 12. This gave me all the new plugins, plus a bunch of existing plugins. The price per plugin for this upgrade was insane. Too good to pass up for sure.
Finally, they listened and are giving proper credit for plugins that are owned. I'm pretty happy with UA for finally making this decision.

I 100% agree with you. Reading over the uadforums it seems they have chosen to just double down and basically say they decided to change the policy and don't really care if users like it or not, and that they have no intention of explaining further or changing course.miloszz wrote: Fri Oct 11, 2024 8:02 pm The passive-aggressive guy they've got assigned to social media hasn't been helping them out since the ruckus last winter about them cutting prices and leaving long-time buyers out in the cold.

It's almost rather condescending the way the official guy on the UA forum talks to the ones who voiced objections to the policy change (even though the same person told them the native ports would always be free if you own the DSP version). And the whole port+ explanation doesn't sit well with me. It's almost like someone laughing in your face because they know what they're saying is really ridiculous, yet they know you are helpless to make them stick to what they originally said, so what can you do
I own 100+ UA plugins so the $199 upgrade for me is not THAT great of a deal, as I'm only missing 5 of the new plugins. So for me it ends up being about $40 for each new plugin. And I don't consider the new plugins to be that great in my opinion, although the topline vocal one seems interesting!

I don’t believe you can.Igro wrote: Thu Feb 13, 2025 7:32 am Does anyone know if native plugins licences can be transferred to another user? Thank you.

It's a drag but I got most of my UAD stuff for a good deal so I'm OK with it. Never in a million years would I opt in at full price though.

Do you know if Ultimate has the C-Suite's?

I like their freebies. I have the LA-2, the 1176 and Pure Plate. All work on machine licenses and I have Connect uninstalled (just use it to install). Great!

Only all UA’s plugins, except it no more includes Neve bundle (unless you already own it) and none third party product (like c suite, softube, brainworx, ams, massenburg, …)I_Am_Become_KVR wrote: Sat Feb 22, 2025 8:51 am Ah, I had 65, thats why. The guitar amps from BX make good use of the UAD hardware, but otherwise, it's cheap to get the native versions of the BX plugins direct from PA.9headshydra wrote: Sun Feb 23, 2025 6:53 amOnly all UA’s plugins, except it no more includes Neve bundle (unless you already own it) and none third party product (like c suite, softube, brainworx, ams, massenburg, …)I_Am_Become_KVR wrote: Sat Feb 22, 2025 8:51 am Ah, I had 65, thats why.
