Yeah that would be Casadia, thats not bad. The Unmask feature can be useful.

Neold also dropped OldTimer about a month back. It does Vintage analogue BBD type of delay, Modern and anywhere in between. It has a few other useful features too.

i feel like there is still space in the delay world for better multitap with individual channels per taps for processing.
Steinberg did it with theirs but it's not vst so we cannot use it outside.
I'm force tu use a combination of delay rn
Would love to have a sort of tapographic delay like in vst where i can tap the rythm but still have access to the multitap channels

Doesn't Blue Cat have a delay that allows for vsts to be added to taps and feedback? I do this kind of thing in bitwig. If you're into crazy routings for processing you may want to get yourself a subhost like Bidule or switch to a host that allows for crazy routing already like bitwig or reaper. I'm sure a multitap delay with individual tap outputs could be put together in max4live in like 20 minutes. You could also just make it in reaktor if you're going to process the taps outside the feedback path. I don't actually know what you're trying to accomplish but I'm sure it's doable without too much trouble. Also you could use the free "cardinal" plugin version of vcv rack.

In the interest of naming every delay ever made, I'll throw PSP Echo into the discussion. I wouldn't say it's my favorite, but it's a very solid and IMO underrated delay. It was one of my go-to's for many years, but got displaced by others over time and I just recently rediscovered it.

I've been using Pluralis quite a bit. I would get Replika XT but I don't see a Gate function in there.

I also use bitwig but without the containers in the grid it's a stellar mess right now..
What does your multitap delay looks like ?

Yeah the blue cat delay isnt it. It's a real hassle to use i don't like it.
One cool delay is the steinberg multitap but it's nuendo only so it sucks :(

That's a good one. Just downloaded and installed it today. Really easy to get a variety of great sounding delays. :tu:

I generally slap what i want together for the specific thing I'm working on. In bitwig It usually goes: Chain (delay-1 set to "zero delay" (FX Layer in the feedback path [however many delays I want in the layerer [stuff in the layered delay feedback paths]]) delay post processors) and back around to the first delay input via feedback. All the layered delays are usually set fully wet to avoid runaway super short feedback from the main loop.

These are the kinds of things I use bitwig for. It's not my ideal composing environment but I love it for sound design and jamming.

I've been loving this simple dist/filt/delay from japan (dotec-audio) lately. It's super basic but sounds killer imo.

*It's got simple bitcrusher and tapestop effects built in as well.

I don't know how I missed this one, but I can't believe Cascadia hasn't gotten more attention. When I was buying Velvet (Izotope's new de-esser, which is pretty amazing), I noticed that I had a loyalty offer for Cascadia for $39 so I watched a couple of reviews, bought it without hesitation, and I've been using it for my latest two projects. This just might become my new go-to delay! So far, I love everything about it for a bread-n-butter delay that sounds soooooo clean. I also love that it's freely resizable so I can stretch it to my liking - really nice touch.

Bread and butter clean delay? So it sounds like any digital delay then?

Yes and no. The unmasking effect is actually pretty effective at cleaning up the delayed signals and when I compared it to other delays in the same project, it definitely has a lot more clarity when using moderate-high unmasking levels. So, it's not what I would call a "character" delay, except perhaps that its character is simply being very clean and crystal clear.
