I haven't notice that bug in Bitwig

I have noticed this in Bitwig 5.2.7 and Windows11. VST3 version of Triaz.
If I have made a project which has Host Sync selected and load the project, then press Play Triaz does not start playing anything. If I show Triaz UI first and then press Play, then it plays. Not a big problem, but annoying. I would think it would be easy thing to fix.

Right, I've managed to put another few hours into trying to integrate Triaz into my workflow and although I've been tempted to give up several times I do believe I'm making progress.

My two big breakthroughs today (thanks for the helpful suggestions) was having a second trial instance of Triaz where I could audition different presets and discovering that I could trigger different pattern banks using midi.

On the first one, I was getting hugely frustrated by not being able to copy across an entire channel from one instance to the other. I had a bit of a facepalm moment when I eventually realise that the "paste with sequence data" in the channel menu is a toggle not a command! So if it's toggled on (i.e. highlighted) then when you paste a channel from one instance to another you get not just the sound but also the sequence....which is what I wanted. The manual was singularly unhelpful and I was tearing my hair out trying to work out how to get this done. But that's really helpful as I can now mix and match things I like from different presets.

Using midi notes to trigger different patterns IS in the manual but given how incredibly important it is (to me anyway) it is really hidden away. What this allows me to do is to have several different patterns and just put a midi note in the DAW where I want each pattern to play in the song. Unless you're having the same beat play through the whole song (which is unusual) this is an incredibly important feature to have. Ideally there would be some kind of song timeline in Triaz and you could just drag patterns on to the timeline but since you can't, this workaround is the next best thing. And I think it's good enough even if it is a bit clunky.

Btw, I asked Waves Alchemy two questions on Monday and haven't received a reply to either. In truth, I've solved them myself but I'll be going in with my eyes open - don't expect any support.

I still have 7 days left on the demo and will have another go now I've sorted out those two workarounds. I am still a fan of Triaz's fundamental beatmaking abilities so I'm going to persevere.

I don't understand. Do you mean does it load Triad presets correctly when loading a Bitwig project?
Normally if I am changing Triad drum presets I do that from Triad User Interface and I think it works like it should.

Yup, I very much have my eyes open on this one. I'm evaluating it assuming there's no technical support and there won't be any updates.

I did not mean I open a Triaz preset. I have made a project in my DAW, Bitwig Studio and saved it to hard disk. Later I load this project to my DAW. Then press Play button in my DAW. Triaz should start playing the music I had saved to this DAW project. But it makes no sound unless I first show Triaz UI in my DAW. Then I hear Triaz making sound.

Ok, I need to correct this because I've just got replies from WA to both my queries so although it's taken a few days my assumptions about not getting technical support is wrong.

I'm very happy to admit that I got that wrong.

I also, finally, managed to use it properly in a production today (using all the workarounds I've discovered and created through the week of testing) and I think this will be a purchase for me. It's still a bit weak in the areas I've already mentioned but it has great samples, great presets and is a great one stop shop for creating those electronic beats.

Thanks too all of those that have offered suggestions along the way. I was pretty close to giving up a couple of times.

Yes, Host Sync is enabled in the project. The strange thing is this works in Ableton Live 10, but NOT in much newer version of Bitwig.

Well they answered me recently quite quickly when help was needed for a license transfer, so I don't think this is true at all.
