PhiVerb by Orpheus Effects

Hi there, I am Phil from Orpheus Effects. It has been a long and winding road, but I am super glad to announce our first product release, PhiVerb.
PhiVerb is designed to be a desert island reverb plugin that covers all basic reverb needs. Where most reverb plugins just tweak parameters behind the scenes and call it a new mode, PhiVerb offers four distinct algorithms in a versatile package that looks like four plugins in one - because that is basically what it is.
And now to the honest disclaimer. My marketing department would probably kill me for saying this if I had one, but those of you that already have a bunch of reverb plugins will probably not find any revelatory new sounds in PhiVerb. However, I hope that the quality of the sounds and the love that went into this project will make it so that there is something in it for you as well.
For those that want to try it out, there is a free trial available where you can also get RoomLite, which is a free plugin that contains the unaltered Room algorithm of PhiVerb.
Find out more here:

Congratulations on the release. Just tried it and I must say great job. I really like it on drums and other stabby sounds. Feels very smooth in a way that can be hard to come by!

I am very sorry this happened to you. I was not able to reproduce this. We cannot cover all scenarios of course, so we would be grateful if you could provide more details via mail at contact (at) orpheuseffects.com.yzcoruhT wrote: Thu Feb 13, 2025 8:15 pm Multiple times tried to register the demo and its always says "Activation Key Invalid" and I uninstalled the plugin. If you were trying to activate the demo, make sure to use the right activation key, as there is a dedicated section for trial license keys. It's a bit hidden, because we assumed people would go straight to the RoomLite activation key (which will also activate the PhiVerb trial in the background). Sorry if any of this is unclear.

Hello!
I've tried RoomLite and it sounds excellent! Great job! I have noticed that when wiggling some parameters around (I'm not sure which), the plugin sometimes stops working. As in: 100% wet = total silence. When that happens, the plugin needs to be re-inserted for it to function again, no amount of parameter changes will bring back the wet signal.
Possibly important: I'm using RoomLite in Reaper with the GUI stripped back, so I'm dialling in changes with the exposed parameters.

Hi and thank you for the kind words! And also for stress-testing the plugin. This is beyond helpful.diroxe7660 wrote: Fri Feb 14, 2025 5:14 pm I've tried RoomLite and it sounds excellent! Great job! I wasn't able to reproduce it as of now. One cause that I could think of is that the high- and low cut have quite a bit of overlap that would quench the entire signal. However, as you have mentioned that wriggling the params wouldn't bring back the signal, it is quite possible that it is something else. Unfortunately I can't whip out the full testing suite right now but will do so soon for an upcoming update and will keep my eyes peeled for any such behavior.

This may have something to do with the license system / presets? I updated today after receiving the mail. I then added the updated plugin to a track but didn't get any wet signal at all, no matter what knobs I turned, no matter how often I added new instances of the plugin. Hitting "reset to defaults" (Reaper) didn't help either. I then removed my DAW's presets for RoomLite and removed the plugin from Reaper's ini files. Only after doing that did I get a prompt to enter my license key (again)?! The plugin started working afterwards. I'm lost.
EDIT: I want to add that my DAW PC is usually offline, I only go online (and only briefly) when I need to auth a plugin with a license server - like today.

Good all rounder here. It has a certain smoothness and clarity. It's easy to dial in your sound, and it can capably handle in-your-face to very subtle. Two thumbs up.

You might be correct. The installer from said update necessitated another unlock of RoomLite. This has since been fixed. Sorry about this. There have been some teething issues - I guess that's what one gets when product release coincides so closely with becoming a parent...diroxe7660 wrote: Fri Mar 07, 2025 5:38 pm This may have something to do with the license system / presets?
Anyway, this would have silenced the plugin. If you only used the barebones GUI from Reaper then it would have been hidden from you, but it sounds like that in your case the Plugin GUI didn't get the memo either. I wasn't able to recreate that, but I'll keep my eyes peeled. Feel free to shoot us a message at contact ( at ) orpheuseffects.com if this continues to be an issue. Thanks for your detailed feedback so far.
