Just interesting. Why you was switch to clap from Vst3? Which DAW you are using?

He did it because it's a new thing and people like new things, he did it because the CLAP thing aims at people's silly urge to fight against big corporations. That is mostly it.

CLAP is good, ethos is cool but when it comes to the features they advert as groundbreaking you'll find that it's mostly for super duper geeks who want to modulate subatoms in music "per voice".

And then you'll realize when it comes to FX features (over VST3) are even less and less prominent and then finally you will realize that people made genre-defining tracks with 2 decades older formats.

However, CLAP is a good progress and should be adopted just for the sake of "openness" which should be the main point. All other so-called features are moot.

Ah, thanks for the explain. I am in Cu and use only vst3. Works good for me.

The main reason, beside the already mentioned, is that its easier for the developers to target CLAP in the first place and then wrap it into VST and AU. VST3 was a nightmare requiring many hoops and tricks to make it work like VST2.
Steinberg made some wrong assumptions about the future of Midi and wanted to force the world on their point of view…
The adoption of CLAP is more than 10 times faster than the adoption of VST3 was after its introduction… Pure Cubase and Nuendo users, they will be the last to benefit from it…

You asked, so I'll answer...

I switched from VST/VST3 to CLAP for all my available CLAP plugins because I am not a Steinberg customer.

As I am not a Steinberg user, I do not wish for that company to decide the future of plugin formats used in my projects, or for a company I have no connection with, to be able to unilaterally decide when a hitherto industry standard plugin format is discontinued.

I use CLAP because it isn't owned by a company that I am not a customer of. I also like backwards compatibility and I believe that VST3 will be discontinued in favour of yet another Steinberg-variant, long before CLAP is replaced, therefore avoiding further unnecessary forced plugin format migration(s) from Steinberg in the future.

I use CLAP because I regard both VST/VST3 now as "legacy" audio plugin formats, which are only required for Steinberg customers and/or the few other remaining DAWs lacking CLAP support (likely to become less and less over time).

I also believe that over the next few years, most audio plugins still in active development, will be updated to CLAP, which will gradually usher in CLAP to becoming the new industry standard format for Windows/Mac/Linux plugins in this next decade and beyond.

I use CLAP because I am ahead of the curve. And I like the idea of future extendibility and the possibilities of new feature support for CLAP format plugins.

Thanks. Just discovered it. Nice. But no Pro Tools, Ableton, Cubase and Logic.. these Daws I know very well.. so, maybe they do it soon as well

CLAP integration is on the roadmap for JUCE 9. It's not long ago that v8 was rolled out, so it'll probably take a while, though. But given its huge dev community, I suppose it'll create some good momentum.
