JZ wrote:Hi There, Loop Horse Version 2 is ready now. Version 2 contains a couple of bug fixes but mainly new features added, as suggested by users of the KVR forum:

-Get File properties in browser.
-New resizable interface that uses system colours.
-Interface is more standardised.
-'Drag & Drop' to build a list.
-Also add files by hitting SPACEBAR or from right-click menu.
-Batch delete files after copying (permanent ).
-Send files to Recycle Bin from browser.
-Perfect looping from main window for previewing loops (XP & 98!!).

Let me know how you get on with it! :?

first thoughts are no drag and drop from loophorse into other apps or desktop, this would be great.

im getting a weird thing where droping a file into the list that already exists (by mistake) will open a rename dialoge but wont let me quit.

Hi Topaz

I'll look into the 'drag and drop' to other apps.

The rename box appears to ensure the file you've added has a different name to the existing ones.
When building a compilation from multiple folders there's a chance that 2 different samples can have the same name. At the mo you must rename the file and add. It can then be removed from the 'copy list'. I will look into adding a button to cancel the 'rename & add'

Thanks for your comments
John

Cool, new version.

Will give it a spin right after hitting the shower, I have a few cds worth of samples to check and organise. Loophorse has already proved itself useful in this, I've been going through masses of samples from various sources and organising them.

Now, somebody wanna come wash my back?

great stuff, this version is much much better and thanks very much, you might want to edit your thread title to "new loop browser" or something similar.

intergration with other apps would be a great thing to add, stuff like drag and drop to explorer/other apps, or even an option to add helper apps/external editors would be a real bonus, adding these things would put it in the shareware market imo.

you might want to edit the title of this thread to

"new loop browser tool" or similar.

free software wont really grab everyones attention.

thanks very much for listening to users, you have the ability to see when a user gives you genuine advice, that is worth so much ;) you will go far.

I love this application, this is one of the reasons why I love kvr, there are alot of talented people, generous folks here and it never ceases to amaze me.
I love sampling and loophorse is what is missing from every softsampler and audio editor, it's a pleasure to use and as a hardcore samplehead I can't believe it's free.
thanks so much for this.

my only request would be a vst version.

Post

Thanks. I downloaded it and will check it out to see if I like it better than SampleCatalog.

Being able to edit looks nice. Does it play 16 and 24 bit? Any chance of being able to categorize loops and hits, and then search?

Hi There CC4
Sadly, it does'nt support 24 and 32 bit as it utilises windows MCI. I'll look into that though for future versions.

They'll be an update with added features within the next week or so.

Hi There

Version 2.1 is out now. As usual, let me know if there’s any bugs or improvements you want. Please use the forum on the site if you prefer. Let me know if this is useful to you. Thanks for your suggestions.

Where I’ve failed for 2.1:

·Sorry, no hot keys. I spent a couple of days trying to implement them but it caused more problems than not. You can add files to the copy list with spacebar still. Still haven’t ruled it out though.
·No ability to read loop info in samples.
·Only partially implemented drag and drop. I will find a way to fix this.

New for Version 2.1:

·Bookmark commonly used folders - Drag and drop files to these folders icons. The shortcuts remain intact for all sessions and are not removed on closing the application.
·Drag files to other OLE applications using the 'dropbox' feature.
·Zip files in the copy list to a new or existing archive.
·View commonly used folders in a separate floating window.
·Drag files between commonly used folders and main browser.
·Ability to backup and load the setup info of all folder shortcuts and associated applications.
·Calculate BPM for files on the hard drive.
·Filter the files in the browser.
·New 'Action' window gives a clear report of actions executed.
·'Open with' feature added to explorer. Open or re-associate files with applications on your system. (XP only)
·Option to launch files with double click
·Tuning piano. Check the key of a sample and add the result to the filename. (Manual only...with your ears!)
·Bulk delete to the Recycle Bin
·Create, rename and recycle folders.
·Access loop editor from the copy list.

If you want, I've made some DLL to do drag and drop.
I'm using it in SQ4².
Just let me know.

SQ42, thanks for your reply. Your software looks cool & interesting. I'll have to drag my DX11 out and have a go with that!

Your offer sounds great. I'm just to gonna send you a message with my email.

Cheers

:o

Incredible, I was about to post here for this kind of tool - just what the doctor ordered. I have 10 gigs or unsorted free samples that have been mostly unused because... I haven't met a soft like this!

I guess I'm also able to trash crap samples with Loophorse?

Your other app, file.inventory would also be super-useful, but I'm on W2K :(

P.S. If this works, I'd seriously consider donating, and maybe I'm not alone ;)

Although I haven't tested it on w2000 it should still work ok.
