Midi Import Problems

Hi all, I'm on RC 5.43, macOS.
I'm having problems with midi import.
I'm creating a simple chord progression in Notion program of 8 bars, 1 chord per bar.
I'm then exporting as a midi file.
Upon importing to RC, any notes that are repeated from chord to chord, say a "C" in C Major to a C in F Major are truncated to tiny lengths in the proceeding chord.
The file imports in any other program properly.
Am I doing something wrong?

Yea, double check all the properties and make sure you are not excluding anything.. Also, there is an update to RC available..
I'd have to see some screen shots of your process to help..

Hi heliacal,
please send me the MIDI file in e-mail, if possible. I'd love to check why it is not imported properly. I suspect that the notes are overlapped,, e.g. "Note1 on" "Note2 on" "Note1 off", "Note2 off". If 'Note 2' and 'Note 3' are overlapped, the situation is even worse. This is not specified in the MIDI standard for how to handle this situation. According to ChatGPT:
If Note1 and Note2 are the same pitch (same note number), the result depends on the synthesizer:
Thanks,
Attila

If Note1 and Note2 are the same pitch (same note number), the result depends on the synthesizer:
- If it follows voice stealing, Note1 Off may stop the sound even though Note2 is still on.
- If it follows note stacking, the note will continue until Note2 Off is received.
- If it follows single instance handling, the second Note On might be ignored.
Thanks,
Attila

I have done some more investigation and import from Studio One works great.
I was importing from Notion Mobile so maybe there is something off there.
I am mostly interested in using use Studio One back and forth with RC standalone so I'm happy.
I'll send you the Notion export so you can look at it to see what's off.
Where should I send it?
Thanks!

Thank you! Please send the MIDI file to my info@m...s.com address.
I'll check it, and fix importing if there is a bug.
Thanks!
