I almost got a bopp and steve after watching their video
Instead I got Echo Cinematic and spent hours playing with it to get that perfect dub reflect on a high-resonance Kobol.
New Nektar sustain petal arrived. Playing the pianos from Kontakt last weekend and I realized the old one wasn't working right. Examined it and found out the plastic around the screws that hold the bottom on had come apart and it wasn't fixable. Cheap Guitar Center brand thing. Anyway, the new one is metal and heavier.

i needed to use a couple of vacation days or lose them, so I took Friday and Monday off this weekend. I've recorded 4 songs in the last 4 days and expect one more tomorrow, which may finish the album depending on how long it is.

Whimsical Raps Silhouette has been really inspiring. My Multimod is supposed to arrive Tuesday...

I got some work done in REAPER with learning how to better stack synths in parallel.
As it turns out, there's a built-in MIDI transposer, so you can tune each synth separately without menu diving.
The down side is that I was stacking real hardware synths back in the mid to late 1990s and getting much better results.

Also, ZynAddSubFX LV2 plugin started crashing on my system ever since one of the system upgrades so I removed it.
I still have Yoshimi, so there's still some good sounds happening. Also, I rediscovered Podolski for pads too.

Overall, it was a productive time for learning. I think I've made up my mind that I need to go back to hardware.

Turned a charcuterie board into a pedal board. The empty spot will be CBA’s Habit.

I’ll have the output patched to the 1010music BlueBox, but I still need to add wires through the shelf.

Monday is my last day of a 2 week vacation and I’ve used most of it to refine access to things and organize before the stress of a busy schedule is a daily reality. Jamuaries really helps pin point bottlenecks in the workflow, but I think I’ve resolved some of the biggest ones now? I hope.

Monday will be all about quick setup for recording video. We’ll know if I have any success based on any videos uploaded after this.

Groovy setup, how do you like the Goodhertz Lossy pedal?
I love that (and all their other) plugins, can it do that gated/ducked lo-fi reverb?

I really like it, but quick back story here for context: I didn’t own the plugin until I bought the pedal, and a short while after using the plugin I had planned to sell the pedal. I ended up unboxing it again after seeing how many people received it as their mystery box pedal. Rediscovering it, I found it can make some convincing tremolo like effects. The filter, reverb and ability to create interesting textures makes this one a keeper for me.

The pedal has a gate and operates the same way as the plugin.

I linked both manuals because it’s insane how much of Lossy (plugin) they were able to port into the pedal. Now there is a dip switch on the back labeled “Slow” that does better at reproducing the plugin sound, but it introduces more latency when engaged.

I ended up in the ER this weekend, so I missed my show on Sunday. I'm getting ready for my set tonight. Super excited. LA Synth Club will be streaming this event to the club Youtube page:

On a side note, if you have this shit in your yard (it's pretty common in SoCal), be very careful handling it.

I was wearing eye protection and gloves but still managed to get a little of the sap in my eyes. It was excruciating and couldn't open my eyes even for several hours after having them flushed out. I definitely do not recommend it.

:o Sorry to hear about that! On a plus side, for all the reasons to go into the ER, this is one of the better ones. Looking forward to the stream. Do you know what time the live one will be up? If I can’t see it live, I’ll catch the replay.

Thanks! I’m the first act and go on at 7:30pm PST, so I think that’s when the stream starts.

Going to the ER is always lame. Last time was for kidney stones. Fire Stick sap in eyes was less painful than kidney stones but much more panic inducing.
