Then your choice of sounds will dicatate the overall feel of your music. Choose richer sources.

Go through a real analog preamp and back in. That, or record through a microphone back into your system.

You could also use compressors that simulate tape compression or vintage tube compression. This can have the affect of taming the edge of your sounds.

You can try voxengo's stereo touch

thx. I haven't been using my hardware synths lately and have noticed my soft synths still sound great, but they are mixing down a tad cold and scratchy.

Give it a shot. If you like the Meek sound, it just might do it for ya. I got to hear a Microwave XTK through a Chandler TG2, and the Nord G2 through a Manley, and it made the great sound even better. Imagine that 'eh? ;)

I tried the crunchesser , but it seemed to just raise levels and not squeeze much. The PSP Vintage Warmer seemed to actually compress and fatten the sound.

Something is up with my headphones connection so I wont notice they stereo widenre plugi until I fix that issue later today.

Pretty much any kind of analog emulation should help; just sending your signal through a good EQ and compressor (or in the other order) can work wonders.

But speaking as a guitarist, "Tubes are the answer!"

Kjaerhus, Voxengo, and Digitalfishphones have superb plugs which you really should try out. The Simulanalog suite is also excellent. You might also find Camel Phat or Ruby Tube or Antares Tube to your liking.
Wait... loot _then_ burn? D'oh!

The golden peak presser seems to work well.(gpp1).
