The main difference past 2.3 is that is now uses the new in-built oscilloscope which uses opengl. Do you have any more specific error messages? Maybe there's an additional package you need to install for opengl? But strange that it only affects the plug-in. Have you tried another DAW?
Hi James. I'd tried a couple of DAWs and that was the best I could get for an error.

Just now I installed Ardour to see what it would do. The plug-in manager there gives this error: Invalid VST3 Module Path: ''

Running Ardour from a terminal gives this error:

VST3 not a valid bundle: '/home/me/.vst3/osci-render-free.vst3/Contents/x86_64-linux/osci-render-free.so'

Maybe that's a clue?
Update: That was the clue. The binary has to have the same name as the bundle. But while the bundle is called osci-render-free, the binary is just osci-render. Renaming either the binary or the bundle fixes the loading problem.

Ah, thanks so much!! That's a blunder from me - oops! I'll make sure that's fixed and thanks for letting me know the issue - I hope you enjoy :)

...not sure, but here's Vector... This would be an instant buy for me for this alone. Vector hasn't had any competition till perhaps this

Hey! Feel free to email me at james@ball.sh and we can sort out a PayPal payment alternative :)
Gumroad allows Paypal again but I think you need to activate it

This is amazing news, thanks! I've activated PayPal now :)

The graphics would work great in a spaceship cockpit hope the copyright allows that.

I'm loving this scope! Any chance we get an AAX version? :D

Hey! Talking about an instant buy...

I just updated sosci with a toggle to enable goniometer mode, so that it rotates the image by 45 degrees, making it more what you're used to :) Let me know what you think!

Would it be possible to have the option (like the osci-render) to get the added window (icon arrow in the box) for sosci?
It’s quite useful when working inside Voltage Modular to see what happens when simultaneously tweaking modules when using two IO plug-in host.

Been wanting something like this for years. Very well done!

Thanks for the suggestion :) I've had this suggestion from someone else too and it's easy to do so I'll add this in a later version! I'll just copy the same behaviour as osci-render.

Bought!

...finally a post-Vector goniometer with great responsiveness. I can't say why but I use these full time. A couple of things that may be considered...

1. Normalized image output for low signals... usual operation until clipping starts to force everything out to the border. They display clipping very visually with the force-field/ barrier look.

2. ....nvm... already done

Great plugin. Happy customer.

Just to show that Osci-Render and Sosci can be used for more than just checking on your output signals:

We just released our new Media·Art website and one of the projects uses Osci-Render for all the visuals:

This is a 1970 125kg movie spotlight from the GDR sporting a 70cm fresnel lens and a 20,000 watt bulb (we do not use the latter ;-) ) transformed into a huge oscilloscope with Osci-Render.

We used several instances of Osci-Render (the synth-brother of Sosci) in Reaper at 192kHz for highest fidelity. Bitwig, our usual DAW, was sadly not able to deal with this high a sample rate.

The graphics are first generated and animated in Blender and then further treated with the built in effects in Osci-Render, one of them a Lua script for the symmetry.

James and the Discord community have been extremely helpful in making this possible. THANK YOU  :tu:

Can't recommend the plugins enough!

This is just lovely. Thanks a lot for sharing.
