Prices were dropped on all the add-on packs. Some of them are now on sale for the lowest they've ever been.zvenx wrote: Tue Feb 18, 2025 6:27 pm I found out after the fact if you buy a rig library or ir cabinet, you get it free, so it make more sense to buy something for $29 that qualifies.

I don't know what they did with the UI but to me it looks worse.

I'll say this, I'm a little sympathetic. Huge amp sims like this are hard to do well from a UI perspective. People are always on about how terrible ToneX is to use. I have a LOT of nitpicks about it, but I don't find it bad. Amplitube isn't amazing either. Smaller amp sims like NeuralDSP/Mixwave stuff is a lot easier to do. Genome does alright IMO. Looks pretty. Is clean.
But I was optimistic that TH-U was fixing my complaints about it with their new "put things wherever you want approach" and they didn't do it the way I hoped, unfortunately.

i also have problems to see this as GUI update, i compared to TH3 and often have been the old GUI more readable. There GEMS are looking nice, so why do they fail to make THU a bit more pretty.bmanic wrote: Wed Feb 19, 2025 9:09 pm I don't know what they did with the UI but to me it looks worse.
AmpRoom, Amplitube and even Guitrar Rig are looking so much better

I like the graphics of the amps/speakers/etc, I think the slightly cartoonish look makes everything look look nice and clean, unlike some other similar products where everything is kind of overly realistic, scruffy or grimy looking.
The rest of the UI, and UX, meh..

Major disappointment. I expected much more, and got much less.
IMO they need to do a complete GUI re-write, this just doesn't work. Far too clumsy.
The GUI just gets in the way.

Anybody know if purchases of expansions from retailers works for the V2 upgrade? Or has it to be bought from OL. And if Supercabinet IR's count as expansions? (guessing yes to that one).
Thanks

Why are you adding v2 updates to peoples accounts when they cant register without paying ?
Overloud wrote: Tue Feb 18, 2025 1:21 pm TH-U has already established itself as one of the most powerful and versatile amp and effects modeling platforms available. Now, with TH-U v2, it reaches new heights, bringing significant innovations while preserving everything that made its predecessor a gold standard for guitarists and bassists.
What’s New in TH-U
This major update introduces:
• A completely redesigned GUI, offering an even more intuitive and efficient workflow.
• Polyphonic Global Transposer allowing players to instantly shift their tuning up or down —perfect for playing in different tunings on the fly.
• TH-U Unified Model Panel, integrating all amp and effect models into a single streamlined interface.

• smart list: added a search function to the SuperCabinet
• MIDI: Improved MIDI Bank and Program Change support
• Tags: Favorites tagging and reference brand search

Yeah, I'm not sure what that's about. It makes it look like people qualify for a free upgrade, then you go in to launch the plugin, that just overwrote the prior version, and now you can't activate it.topaz wrote: Thu Feb 20, 2025 1:33 pm Why are you adding v2 updates to peoples accounts when they cant register without paying ?
I gotta say, I don't think Overloud could have bungled this major update any harder if they were trying to. The whole point of this upgrade was simply to improve the workflow and GUI, which they did without actually improving the workflow and GUI much at all - certainly not addressing the biggest customer pain points. And in some areas it got worse.
Then they go and throw it in everyone's accounts, just tempting customers to overwrite their older version, without knowing if you actually qualify for a free upgrade.

If you really want to know I'd suggest you contact them via their site.topaz wrote: Thu Feb 20, 2025 1:33 pm Why are you adding v2 updates to peoples accounts when they cant register without paying ?
The account posting here just has 9 posts, clearly not interacting with their customer base here, poor marketing ...
If you like THU and are ok with the GUI, it's not a bad platform.
Shame they are all too focused on making it look like real hardware instead of bringing digital guitar-playing to a whole new level of sound and functionality !
