Hello everyone,

I am a beginner and for a project I’m working on, I’d like to create sounds and musical textures in the style of an artist I really love, Modern Biology, especially this track:

I’d love to achieve this kind of sound, but I’m also curious about how he approaches rhythm because it feels very organic—it doesn’t seem to be locked to a typical Logic Pro grid.

I know he works a lot with sounds from mushrooms, but do you think it’s possible to get a similar result in a more traditional way, perhaps using certain VSTs? For reference, I’m working on Logic Pro.

Does anyone have any ideas?

Thanks a lot in advance,
Adam

Organic sounds?

With an organ ofcourse.

Sorry, couldn't resist. I'll get me coat... :clown:

What I hear is a "pad" type sound with a chorus effect on it. Used to be standard on eg Roland Juno 106 synth.

Thanks @Bertkoor!
Do you see an equivalent to the Roland Juno 106 in Logic Pro? Or a way to recreate it?

Also, do you think it’s the same way to create these kind of sounds?:

No, that effect is reverb, not chorus.

And the synth does not sound like a generic analog synth. Granular synth, or processed recording of violin? Who knows...

Go experiment with stuff, you'll discover things.
