Yeah, shame about that. I was going to buy it but waited too long and it disappeared. I didn't know it was "legal reasons", which I assume means Alborosie didn't like his name and gear being used without permission. Most of the other delays with filters in the loop, especially high-pass filters just don't do that dub thing very well. I wish I'd bought it sooner, dammit! Before it went poof!

AudioThing and Alborosie developed ADS together. Alborosie even made some videos showing his plugin.kritikon wrote: Thu Feb 20, 2025 7:55 pm I didn't know it was "legal reasons", which I assume means Alborosie didn't like his name and gear being used without permission.

I suspect it was probably more like, "I want more money" or "I'm disappointed with something else" and things kind of broke down, so the agreement was terminated. But that's a total guess and I'm sure Audio Thing can't/won't comment any further.

ADS certainly was an interesting concept and exciting at first, but it was rather expensive and it wasn't executed as well as it could have been imo. The 3D GUI looked outdated compared to other AudioThing plugins and could have incorporated many elements from the original gear to make it look tastier and more authentic. The names of the effects were a bit gimmicky. And the effects themselves were rather limited compared to other AudioThing plugins like Outer Space, Springs and especially Dub Filter that evolved from ADS.

I', for one, would say that only the included spring reverb was limited and deserved at least a few more parametersLotuz2019 wrote: Thu Feb 20, 2025 8:48 pm ADS certainly was an interesting concept and exciting at first, but it was rather expensive and it wasn't executed as well as it could have been imo.
