I am interested in what sound layers make beautiful tracks like "Helicon 1" sound so intense/powerful/energetic. I noticed this guitar'ish layer that is seems almost unnoticeable, yet very powerful and brings a lot of energy to the track. You don't think much of it, until it stops abruptly at the end of the chorus.

You can hear it here.

I am almost certain it is an eletric guitar with effects, but I am not sure how to recreate it myself - especially with limited resources (I have Fl studio and free version of Guitar Rig 7)

It's delay feedback from the guitar earlier in the track.

From something I posed a bit back, a neat way to simulate feedback using a filter;

"One nice trick to simulate feedback is to copy your guitar (or whatever..) track and stick the copy through a filter which does self-oscillation - I like the P & M 'Moogy Filter' for this as it has an envelope follower. Then route this back to the same mixer track as the original so it goes through the distortion/amp sim. You can fade up and down the level of feedback of your copied track, and also the pitch with the cutoff frequency. If you need long feedback then timestretch the copied parts."
