my 'smart' is my own damn brain... I never use AI & nobody else should either... Your brain is like anything else in the body, you don't use it then it goes into atrophy... People can't read paper maps anymore for shit's sake...
'SMART' actually means a short sharp pain, not 'intelligence'...
"Ouch!!... That SMARTS!"
There is a similar to the tech 'BlueTooth' back when people were gluing those things to their skulls & constantly pressing phone to face.. Microwave energy is BLUE but you can't see it but put a spoon in the microwave & cook it, LOOK... In your head the highest concentration of metal is in the fillings of the teeth, microwaves love metal, thus 'BlueTooth'...
When you use an AI your encounter is forever recorded, make money on this & AI finds out get ready for you to be sent a copyright violation & later on bank account wiped out...

Looks like your own brain has already atrophied, you dont seem to have a proper grasp of the language you're trying to use.eLawnMust wrote: Tue Feb 25, 2025 10:40 am 'SMART' actually means a short sharp pain, not 'intelligence'...
'Smart' doesnt mean 'intelligence' because it means 'intelligent'. Its use there is as an adjective, not a noun. Smart isnt ever a noun at all, its used a verb or an adjective.
The relevant noun would be 'smarts', which is an informal term for intelligence.
But smart does mean intelligent, despite your denial that it cant mean anything like that. It also means 'stylish' or 'neat' or even 'quick'. Its a pity you're seeminly not smart enough to acknowledge that words have multiple meanings, as well as not knowing the difference between nouns, verbs and adjectives.
And no, 'smart' does not mean 'a short sharp pain'. Pain is a noun too. If something smarts, (adjective) it is painful (adjective)
In short, dont try and lecture folk on use of language when you comprehend it so badly.
Lets not even start on your failure to comprehend physics or computing.

I'm only trying to generate conversations about favorite "smart" software and the rationale for using that over non smart. I knew there would be some anti-A.I. comments. I think there were also objections to splicing tape back in the day.
I, personally, want to use whatever helps me get what's in my head out. My brain is the source. The rest of the stuff are tools to help me realize my goal.

I do like the 'AI' eq thingy in Toneboosters EQ4. I'll do a mix then run it though it on the master channel. Um and ah for a bit then decide that Mr TB eq4's suggestions are right and I'm wrong.

You should double check your AI software. This week I have seen an ad for an AI powered drum machine and in the very small text you need to agree to buy the tool they write that the software uploads your beats / results to better learn. So you are paying for a software, but still you are feeding their algorithms! Insane! I hope people will take a closer look.

I don’t have a single favorite, but I appreciate AI-assisted tools that enhance workflow rather than replace creativity. For example, Izotope’s Ozone and RX for mastering and restoration, or Synplant 2’s AI-driven sound design. What about you?

I also use Ozone and RX. What I personally think is nice about the iZotope AI-assisted tools is that, whilst they obviously give you AI assistance, they do not make it impossible for you to access the controls behind the process.houlihan wrote: Tue Apr 01, 2025 8:39 am I don’t have a single favorite, but I appreciate AI-assisted tools that enhance workflow rather than replace creativity. You can use both the "assistant" view (with easier controls) and the "professional" view with full manual control (as much as Ozone allows you to, as modules like e.g. the Clarity or Stabilizer modules are based on algorithms and not actual human input - with those, you can only control on which parts of the frequency spectrum the effect is applied and to which degree.)

I'm really loving moises. (track separator) I subscribed to the 40/year tier. tried their highest tier and it was worth it if i had the 300ish/year for it. and i was really using it everymonth. It helps me remix/clean up old videos i had of my band playing in the early 2000s. I separate the tracks from the 1 track mono and overdub, doesnt sound great but having the technology in 2025 is so awesome.

I've had a lot of fun playing with Sonarworks SoundID VoiceAI. For those (like me) who are not super gifted when it comes to vocals, it provides some avenues to try lots of different vocal styles (as well as using voice/sounds to drive AI instruments like a bass).

Some people need to know this:
