Hello all.
The son of a friend startet beeing interested in making music, using his smart phone.
I know, there are apps that makes this possible.
He wants to jam with wave files and wants to make some stuff.
I am looking for something easy for beginners, somehow selfexplaining simple with some help from me ore others.
AND there is a point that is vital.
He does not have a credit card or money, and his mother never uses her credit card to buy something in the app store.
So if possible, it should be something, that is given away for free and does can be downloadet in the appstore without giving any date like name, address and so on.
May be he can find it elswhere than in the google appstore.
Lots of to think about:)
If there is something you know, let me know:)
All the best

BandLab studio; https://www.bandlab.com/creation-features, is pretty easy to understand and free.
.
If you see "BandLab Membership subscription" it's for the premium package containing two daws. Cakewalk Sonar and "Next" which is type BandLab studio on the desktop/laptop.

The very title of this thread exactly defines what is wrong with the current state of music.
Every kid with an iPhone, some loops and MIDI files now fancies themselves a "producer".

I did this for a couple of years (making songs on my iPhone).
I landed on Korg Gadget because it's all-inclusive and can be expanded with additional sounds.

The very reaction you have to the title is what's wrong with the current state of music. Every person with limited imagination about using different tools to create music now fancies themselves a "gate keeper"

Are you afraid of a kid with a smartphone would accomplish more than you?CapnLockheed wrote: Wed Feb 26, 2025 5:26 pm The very title of this thread exactly defines what is wrong with the current state of music.
