When I got my LinnStrument, I also thought, it would be better to have a softer surface, like Continuum or Seaboard.
Man had I been wrong. The physical feedback for pressure and velocity is by magnitudes better than with a soft surface! Just get used to it. I bet you will make the same experience…
I also bet, the silicone surface will last longer…
An even harder surface I have on my Sensel without overlay. Also very expressive…
I’ll share my layout later, maybe better on the Embodme site…

i will certainly will use/try the silicon skin. i think you are right that the so called fabric skin isn't very durable.. it was the one thing what was in the end difficult to 'make', as they said on Kickstarter. also different users got a different kind of skin.... (sounds, well....)...?Tj Shredder wrote: Tue Feb 25, 2025 6:33 am When I got my LinnStrument, I also thought, it would be better to have a softer surface, like Continuum or Seaboard.

perhaps that is thing that is still on try out...
velocity is still a bit erratic, can be the skin...
in front of me 4 types of surface for MPE, and responsiveness, i am flooding soft synths with MPE...
i had a Joué Play, i think that is almost the same hard surface as a Sensel... indeed expressive...
still, but i have Seabord Blocks for 5 years, it is what i am very used to... the Lightpad M blocks are also a hard surface, not that hard as a Sensel... they really play well...
enough to discover!
and thanks that you want to share your layout; indeed better on the Embodme site, there are the Erae users.... and you can find it much easier than here...

While I'm waiting for my repaired Erae to be returned, I realized that I never tried the sequencer. So curious how it is! And yes, would love to get the Linnstrument layout as well.

Also, if you are using splitter cables for CV above 12, what exactly are they and where do you get them please?killmaster wrote: Tue Feb 25, 2025 1:53 pm While I'm waiting for my repaired Erae to be returned, I realized that I never tried the sequencer. A warning from Gearspace:
"Mine doesn't power on.
Erae has not responded to any emails for 2 weeks.
I've had to open a dispute with PayPal.
Just a little warning for prospective buyers."

Feel a bit like I dodged a bullet (of nonfunctioning overpriced paperweight) on this one. No response from support after two weeks seems ominous---company possibly going under, perhaps after having knowingly sent out a bunch of defective units?

My experience is quite different.
Mine works fine and they always replied to my support requests.
There are a few bugs on Erae Lab (the software), but nothing major and they said they are working on them.
