MuLab App M10.0.40 beta is available on https://www.mutools.com/mulab/app/lates ... /beta.html

MuLab Plugin M10.0.40 beta for Windows 64 bit is available on https://www.mutools.com/mulab/plugin/la ... /beta.html

What's changed:
  • REX Library updated to the most recent version 1.9.2. This also adds ARM64 support on Mac.
  • When dropping a MuProject file on the launch dialog, the "Opening project..." message box was at an unexpected position. Fixed.
  • When the standard window buttons are positioned left and thus the module fold/unfold buttons etc were positioned right (which is default on Mac) then resizing the window did not properly updatethose fold/unfold buttons. Fixed.
  • MuLab Plugin: The resize control in the bottom-right of the MuLab Plugin's editor now is a little bit bigger because some hosts use the same area for their resize control and depending on host and/or OS there could be too much overlap.
By slightly increasing this control area size you have more 'chance' to differentiate between the MuLab plugin resize control and the host resize control.
  • Some VST3 plugins were causing MuLab to report an error upon save, but this was a false alarm. (Vst3 editor component save state returning "not implemented"). Fixed.
  • Optimized editing of front panels.
  • Audio sequences: When [Alt]+drag the start of a splitted sample event to the start of the audio sequence, it could result, due to zero-cross snapping, in the sample event slightly starting before the sequence start and therefore not being played. Fixed.
  • Other small improvements.
About the updated support for REX 1.9.2:

On Windows you can update the REX DLL in MuLab's app folder to this REX DLL:
https://www.mutools.com/mulab/REX-Share ... -1-9-2.zip
It's not necessary though.
Of course this newest REX DLL will be included in M10's release package.

On Mac the REX DLL now is embedded in MuLab.App so nothing to do.

Last but not least, here is MuLab Plugin 10.0.40 beta for Mac:
https://www.mutools.com/mulab/plugin/la ... -mac64.zip

If you are already using MuLab 9 Plugin then best to install M9 Plugin and M10 Plugin side by side in separate folders, eg:

Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/Vst/MuTools/MuLab 9 Plugin/
and
Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/Vst/MuTools/MuLab 10 Plugin/

Hi Jo, I'm happy to report that the 10.0.40 beta for the Mac installs and runs without any problems.

Just one slight issue so far: the volume of some of the presets in MuTools 10 Plugin seems a bit off. Most of the organ presets sound very clear and loud, but one or two, ChurChill and ChurChinn, for example, sound very quiet when played on my Osmose keyboard, although they play at full volume when the virtual keyboard is used. Also, inserting a Bitwig MIDI FX device to boost the velocity also brings the volume up to the required amount.

Otherwise, so far so good 😍
Bitwig 6.0 beta 12 + Akai MIDIMix + Launchpad X + MF Twister
ExpressiveE Osmose Keyboard + Universal Audio Apollo Twin X
Mac Mini M1 16GB/4TB + macOS 26.2 Tahoe

I have received a key for Mulab 10 and have installed it, but when I launch the app (not the vst), McAfee blocks the launch because of a "menace" in the app, am I the only one ? I'm on Windows 11

Post

No, you're not the only one. Drop mulab.exe to virustotal.com ...

It's an annoying false positive!
Please report the false positive to your AV provider.

Hi Jo! Since you are working on making Mulab work better with Linux & WINE as a host and a plugin, would you also please consider adding the ability to host native Linux VST and CLAP? Otherwise, Linux users have to try to find Windows plugins--and most of us prefer to use Linux Native plugins. Thanks for your consideration! :)

(Also: I'm Accused of lying about Linux—it boots, runs my pro audio workflow, stays stable, updates--though yearly dismissed as “niche”. Yet I'm the deluded one.)

Can WINE bridge VST and CLAP plugins now?

Not really. What you have are tools like Yabridge, which allows you to run Windows VST/CLAP plugins on a Linux-native DAW via Wine.

MuLab App M10.0.41 is available on https://www.mutools.com/mulab/app/lates ... /beta.html

What's changed:
  • You can now drag-drop a .vstpreset file on the top controls area of VST3 editors.
  • Audio sequence editor: When [Alt]+moving the start or end of a sample event while using an event grid then no auto-snapping to audio zero-cross anymore as that also micro-tweaked the event time which is not really expected behavior with an active event grid.
When there is no active event grid the auto-snap to zero-cross still works as before ie. when a zero-cross is found within 1 ms of the mouse drop point then the action is interpreted to be at that zero-cross.
  • When the GUI Scale was not 100% then slider handles could change size each time MuLab was restarted. Fixed.
  • Other small improvements.

As always, you're doing great work Jo. I have been away from here for a while but happy to see all the progress.

I know this has been requested numerous times but I want to add another voice to the mix. I think the following would be a very good move, if possible:
- Linux version (including plugin)
- CLAP plugin version (probably in addition to VST3)

It may seem a bit niche to bother to work on those areas but I have seen new waves of enthusiasm for plugin developers when they make linux versions. Mulab also seems to be a really good program/plugin for linux users, it's such an 'open' platform where you can build your own things.

I also think that only having VST2 plugin versions available in 2025 is probably a bit off-putting for some new users. (I know it seems a bit superficial but it really can be surprising how things like that can put off buyers, a new buyer will be wanting to know their software will be somewhat 'futureproof').
A CLAP version also has a similar potential benefit to a linux version, it brings in a bit of interest from a small but passionate user base.

Good luck with the launch Jo

I understand and making MuLab Plugin also VST3 and/or CLAP certainly is on the wishlist.
But most probably not for M10.0 anymore.
Good luck with the launch Jo

Thanks for the updates :tu:
Just a quick question, I'm not getting any response from the update check, I have both options enabled, ie, for update check and beta check.
Is this normal?

Post

At this point normal as it's still not yet released.
M10 is in transition from beta test via pre-release to release.
