Yeah, that's a good call. The Win11 system I checked Live12 on is also my games machine, but I have studio drivers on it for 3D software, and have never installed GeForce Experience (or its new replacement) so that would make sense.legendCNCD wrote: Sun Dec 08, 2024 10:46 am Maybe uninstall game drivers and geforce "experience", and install studio drivers without the "experience" ?
Ableton Live 12.1 is released! (Feb26 12.1.10 is out)

Have any Windows users grabbed the latest 12.1.10 update and had it completely break your existing install? After running the update from 12.1.5 > .10, as soon I click to launch the application I immediately got:

Tried the trick of moving out the preferences and indexing files to 'factory reset' the app but still the same thing. Ended up having to fully uninstall, remove any traces of Ableton from the programdata and appdata folders (otherwise the installer kept trying to 'update' a non-existent install and failing trying to find missing files), then installing completely from afresh.
Thankfully I had backed up my existing preferences file, default set & channel layout and I just left it running in the background to rebuild the plugin and sample index.
First time in the 10-ish years of using Ableton I've had this issue when updating - Perhaps just a rogue cosmic bit flip

I installed last thing before I left work yesterday, and 12.1 started up with no issues here. Win10.mcbpete wrote: Wed Feb 26, 2025 10:25 am Have any Windows users grabbed the latest 12.1.10 update and had it completely break your existing install?

Folks, listen, why it's not possible to split clip in arrange mode? :/

When will in-app updates be faster than just downloading the full installer from the Ableton website?
I always regret not remembering this.

Seconded. Working fine here too. Works right on the Track in Arrangement View.Calagan wrote: Fri Feb 28, 2025 6:23 am No issue on my system (Live 12.1.10, M1 Pro, Sonoma 14.7.4). I can split all the clips I want in arrange mode...
However the poster, Andrei Marchenko, has a screengrab that looks more like the right-click menu from the Clip View, not the one from the Arrangement View.
However it works equally well in Clip View too, when its a Clip on an Arrangement track.
Where its not possible is Clip View for Session Clips. And when you're doing that, the menu matches the poster's screengrab.

Any change to the MIDI outs from plugins yet with the new release, does it still all come out on channel 1?
Not going to upgrade from 11 until that happens, especially with how much they now ask for upgrading Suite.

Actually, contrary to what I said in my previous post, I had PLENTY of crashes with 12.1.10 when I used some mapping M4L devices (more precisely, the device called Midi Hub).
There seems to be an issue with M4L or mapping feature with the new version.
I also had some strange issues with the clip view in session mode : the display was stuck on the first clip launched, and I was not able to see another clip while the scene was running.
So I downgraded to 12.1.5 : this version is in some way bugged, at least with the M4L devices I use...

With first version of 12, IIRC, Iota, an M4L device from Dillon Bastan did not work--graphic interaction didn't work. Bastan made an updated version. Perhaps he might have insight on the mapping issues.

i wish they'd finally fix sustain pedal issue, and things like toggle keyswitches not always being recognized.
Sucks if you don't have m4l to solve these issues.
