Image Line acquired UVI two years ago.
Falcon got its large annual upgrade in October 2024, free as always.
Needless to say, those UVI guys are still on a roll, and Falcon keeps on evolving as the best complete sampler/synth ITB.
As a sweet reminder, the October upgrades were:
17/10/2024: Falcon 3.1
19/10/2023: Falcon 3.0
06/10/2022: Falcon 2.8
06/10/2021: Falcon 2.5
08/10/2020: Falcon 2.1
10/10/2019: Falcon 2.0
04/10/2018: Falcon 1.6
05/10/2017: Falcon 1.4
03/10/2016: Falcon 1.2
28/10/2015: Falcon 1.0

Thank you for clarifying from the developer's side !otristan wrote: Sun Feb 09, 2025 8:51 amI wonder who told you that. Due to the former plugins reliance on the PACE/iLok system, it presented problems for the developer when attempting to deliver the same plugins without reliance on that software ... all this is hidden away deep within their FAQs and customer support, when users email them.
Because I don't know why there would be such slow down.
The only thing that could happen is that the software try to load the PACE DLL which cannot be found (obviously as it's not installed at all in FLCloud) then try the FL Cloud auth as backup.
Trying to load a DLL is clearly not something that would delay the loading.
I know for sure, I coded the thing.
finished ? neverHanz Meyzer wrote: Sun Feb 09, 2025 10:15 am Hey Tristan, you as the (assumed) main developer of Falcon, are you considering Falcon as "finished" product? I

The example I was using in that statement was in reference to all Sonible plugins. Which used to rely upon the PACE/iLok Licence Manager system. Sonible state that their plugins are now available without iLok on their main product pages. However, Sonible's tech support confirm that many modern Win 10/11 devices can experience serious slow loading issues if iLok Licence Manager system is not also installed on those devices. And this is currently their only suggested (and only available) workaround for this issue. Which as their customer, I find unacceptable.otristan wrote: Sun Feb 09, 2025 8:51 amI wonder who told you that. Naturally, after purchasing several of their plugins via KVR Marketplace (so non-refundable), I was a little irked to learn this. Since I am opposed to installing the iLok software, especially on my new device.
As a result of my experiences, I am now also very wary of other "once iLok-only" developers and products similarly claiming to no longer require it. Such as is the case with several UVI products available through Image-Line's FL Cloud Pro subscription.
Another formerly iLok-only developer, which subsequently offered non-iLok versions of their software, recently reverted and is going iLok-only again. So as a person who regularly purchases new plugins, I like to know and feel confident in my purchases and the types of DRM each developer is going to be using for future updates. I'm not a fan of flip-flopping between different DRM systems, or for poorly implemented alternatives to iLok, which turn out to be useless and require iLok anyway (like Sonible's product line).
There have already been some reports of certain UVI instrument packs only being accessible if/when iLok is also installed on the device, while others don't require it at all, which some FL Cloud Pro customers were not aware of. I think it's right to be cautious of such products, until it has been proven beyond any doubt that they no longer require the iLok software.
As far as I am aware, UVI have always relied upon iLok. As such, I would require absolute assurances that their products when offered via FL Cloud Pro will not require installation of PACE/iLok Licence Manager sofware. And that their performance of these plugins, like Falcon, etc. would not also suffer (like Sonible's) without iLok installed.

UVI FL Cloud products do not rely on iLok at all to authorize themself.
"Regular" UVI product does however.
So if you are using only FLCloud, nothing iLok will be installed on your computer.
Falcon is not available in FLCloud hence will always require iLok.
Simple as that.
Hope this clarify things.

We have never communicate on Falcon update in advance. It was already the case before IL acquisition, so no changes there.Hanz Meyzer wrote: Sun Feb 09, 2025 10:15 am Hey Tristan, you as the (assumed) main developer of Falcon, are you considering Falcon as "finished" product? Is there still a roadmap or plans for improvements? I find your software very convincing, yet I still miss stuff like cross-osc modulation, or routing of send channels... Since the aquisition by Imageline, the communication almost seems to be radio silence, which is a pity...
We don't have any plan to stop Falcon development and I think the past have proved this is the case.
Rest assured we have some good stuff in our hood though

I never thought I wanted Falcon 3 until the 50% off voucher got my attention! Now I need to use that $50 free voucher for some expansions. Any suggestions for something in the chill house/dance or downtempo genres? Organic Arps? Organic Pads?

Thanks! After listening to more demos, I liked Organic Keys more than Organic Pads, but liked Pulsar even more, so I went with that and Organic Arps. I''m sure I'll end up with lots more of these anyway andaudio/fault wrote: Sun Mar 02, 2025 5:25 am organic keys and organic arps is great and quite versatile. should also work for your genres.

I'd like to see a "Generate Pulse" feature in the multi envelope section.
Also it'd be nice if you drag a "point" backwards for example it would overwrite.

OMG you just reminded me that drag and drop of MIDI or Audio into the Multi Envelope is a thing!liv wrote: Thu Mar 13, 2025 7:07 pm I'd like to see a "Generate Pulse" feature in the multi envelope section.
