Who is "everybody"? I am talking only about Fruity Limiter, IL Maximus, OTT, Kotelnikov and PajSoilEIS 🤷🏼‍♂️
Also Toneboosters Compressor 4 is amazing compressor for its price.

I own comp4 too , i think is is very similar to C2 ,i just want to understand why C2 is so popular .there is many good other compresor (presswerk,compassion,rencomp...)

DMG is smaller than FabFilter and have UIs more intimidating for newer audio engineers, thus less appealing to the masses. DMG can indeed produce better results if you tweak the settings enough but I think the appeal of FabFilter generally is their ergonomics & efficiency.

There’s a lot to be said for workflow. Choose a digital compressor that suits yours.

I find myself going back to ProC2 and Trackcomp2 both a lot more than I did for a few years as I went down the emulation rabbit hole. The Softube Bus Compressor is also getting a lot of use (because I can get it reasonably close to the SSL clone hardware G compressor i have).

Why not try it out yourself?

C2 is great (sound and visual representation). But there are so many other great compressors too. My top 5 might be C2, Trackcomp2, PSP oldTimer (yes, it's old), Vulf Compressor and PSP BussPressor. Or maybe Presswerk, Elysia Alpha Compressor, bx_townhouse Buss Compressor, Sonible smart:comp 2, Voxengo Marquis ... Sometimes I just use the stock Glue from Live, because it's so fast to setup. Too many to choose from.

There are tons of great compressors out there. I've used the two you mentioned and while they were fine, they weren't special enough to spend money on. People seem to enjoy c2 because it has a lovely interface and does all the other things a compressor should do. Compassion is also very nice and incredibly versatile. It's just slightly less well known. There are tons more that people talk about off and on and outside of emulations, they have quite similar capabilities. There are plenty of free compressors with freely editable knee curves and full features sets. I don't think either of the two mentioned by the OP are major standouts. Probably stick with some freebies and whatever is included in your daw before you even worry about trying for a "high end" compressor.
Don't F**K with Mr. Zero.

Give Fircomp2 a shot. It's great, and the price is extremely reasonable.

Agreed re: Toneboosters Comp 4. Really clean sounding, great vsiaul feedback and best of all, super affordable. Also suggesting Fircomp2, really easy to dial in but with some interesting differences to a regular compressor.

Beyond that, I use the Arturia Fet comp, Shadow Hills and BX Glue for bus compression.

Personally, compressors are utterly uninteresting to me- as long as they don't colour sound to much and do the thing, I'm happy. Although kinda fo like the look and sound of Presswerk.

The main reasons FF Pro C2 is so popular, in one plug in you get 8 different compression algorithms, great user interface with a large variety of controls missing in most compressor plug ins. This allows you to get almost every compressor sound you could ever want in one plug in. My other go to compressor is Empirical Labs Arousor which is essentially a Distressor on steroids.
