I wrote crtl+a  -selecting all notes or no note at all has exactly the same effect in this case.
I didn't know that it is important to you which colours the little bars which represent the velocities have. :?

The clincher was that after entering a few notes, the last one remains selected for no fathomable reason. That, and the bug that makes others move in random ways when you change one, was enough to make your comments less than clear. In fact I interpreted what you said to mean that if I selected a group of notes, changing one velocity would affect them all [as a possible explanation of the observed bug]. A few tests confirmed that we had a wire crossed somewhere.

o.k. then please accept my apology for having been a nasty boy... :-)

- now if you report the bugs you find/found to the eXT-forum it helps us all :D

I posted a question about it there yesterday. I also mentioned it twice mroe on this thread before I found out that it is indeed a bug and has been there for some time.

only if a single-click didnt work surely ???

(and some people moan about the live4 MIDI stuff !!! )
Right on. There's no escaping the fact that *both* double-clicking and alt-clicking notes in are ridiculously clumsy when compared to a simple single-click...
who thinks a simple double-click is too much of a hassle imo shouldn't be let near any computer at all...
Double-clicking is a serious slower-downer when you're (I'm) trying to compose. Not only does it limit your speed, but it actually becomes really irritating to the finger after a while. I've kind of gotten used to holding Alt, but I still am waiting rapturously for the day when I can configure eXT to use a single click, as is my desire :).

Jens,

It was way back on page 9; however--

You're absolutely right that it's just a different way of working; however, you have the uncanny way of making it seem like people are lazy or stupid for not instantly (or at least quickly) grasping the eXT way.

Let's say someone invents a bike that you have to pedal "backwards" in order to go forwards. Nobody tells me, so I get on and can't get anywhere. I'm not even going to think of pedaling backwards, even if it's really the only other option. I'm just going to think, "What the...?" And then someone will come along and say, "Well, there's really only one other option, why didn't you try that? Besides, the bike is called the Mizuno Backpedaler, what did you THINK it did?"

Doesn't change the fact that my first and only instinct is to pedal forwards. ;)

The modular routing part is intuitive, makes sense, works quickly, etc., (well, except for not being able to press 'delete' to delete a plug-in) so that's why I stick to eXT to "Expand my host" rather than to replace it. Sequencing a song is still a difficult (for me) collection of seemingly unrelated windows and difficult-to-find buttons.

I like the concept of the Composer. But it really needs some serious work before I'll turn to it with a smile every time.

BONES, two things:

1st, these kinds of inquiries are best addressed in the eXT forum.

2nd, I've been waiting for you to contact me again through PM so I can begin getting you sorted..

You don't need the composer for anything, and editing individual velocities is as easy as it is in orion..Just click the thin little bar between the midi note editor & velocity view, drag up while holding the mouse & you can have an expanded view of the velocity info or whatever parameter you need to see..Just make sure your last entered note isn't active as has been mentioned..

that's a combo.

As an asside :- There's a newer version of my skin available with 'monitor' icon (unlike the skin in the posted screenshots!) and other changes. Link over at http://www.xt-hq.com/resources
