My DAW PC just died. I have a Mac that I just got for video editing and NEW music productions.

Is it possible to just migrate all of my existing DAW projects to the Mac as well?

If I tried to load my existing projects on a Mac, wouldn't my Cubase projects be looking for folders and plugin content etc. in a completely different (Windows) folder/location paradigm? Wouldn't the project just be confused and not able to load any of the instruments and fx in my project?

Don't I need another Windows PC of the exact same iteration (Windows 10) to open my existing projects?

Do I need to buy a used Windows 10 machine on eBay tonight, or could I use my new Mac? Google seems to suggest this is possible, but I don't see how.

If you have the exact same plugins installed they will load fine. Only issue you can bump into is not finding the samples or audio files used which you can direct to correct locations and resolve.

Yep, should work.
At least with Ableton it was quite easy, make sure you have same vst2 (back then) versions of plugins -> everything just worked (until ezd3 came...).

Obviously, if you have the same DAW it will be easier, especially if you use the proprietary plugins. But yes through various means (MIDI/audio stem export, omf, etc.) you can transfer projects.

I used to go back and forth between Windows and macOS using Live and VSTs. But eventually, I settled on the Mac and switched to AUs, which seem to cause fewer issues for me.

:D we switched to PC's and VST3's with Live. No issues anymore.
