New plugin released: Flanger 117

Image

Flanger 117 is a flanger plugin based on the MXR® M117 Flanger, one of the most widely used flanger pedals from the 1970s. Known for its rich modulation, deep sweeps, and analog warmth, the M117 became a favorite among guitarists and producers.

This plugin accurately reproduces the sound and behavior of the original unit while expanding its capabilities with modern features like Through-Zero Flanging, Negative Feedback, Stereo Spread, and more.

Whether you're working with guitars, synths, bass, vocals, or drums, Flanger 117 delivers the depth, warmth, and character of an actual analog flanger pedal.

Just a question: the site says 'loyal customers get a special price...check your user area'. What qualifies for this one as I'm not seeing anything here.

Damn I gotta check the 'My Offers' area more often! I was fine with the $29 but I'll take it even cheaper, thanks for another one Luca! (Think I'll be back for a couple more of those offers when I get home from work tonight haha)

Luca, I see on the Flanger 117 page you feature songs from Eddie Van Halen and John McGeoch. These are probably the two guitarists most closely associated with the M-117. However, I would maybe showcase different songs that more prominently show off the M-117. For John McGeoch, that would be his work in Siouxsie & the Banshees. Really prominent examples of the M-117 in use would be 'Happy House', 'Israel', and 'Arabian Knights'.

For Van Halen, while 'Ain't Talkin' 'Bout Love' uses the M-117, Eddie only stomps it at the end of the main riff when he plays G-C-B-C (downtuned to A♭ minor). More prominent examples would be 'Atomic Punk' (intro) or particularly 'Unchained'.

Installed the demo and have been playing around with it. This is the very sound that has eluded me lo these many years! Ay, it be me white whale.

This is it, this is THE sound of post-punk! Luca nailed it.

I will be purchasing soonly.

Sounds like an MXR Flanger (of course), but with a few nice extra features. I am experiencing a problem as the THRU-0 is not working correctly. THRU-0 (through zero) on and NEG FBK along with low delay time (high manual) should cause the sound to completely cancel out as it sweeps through the zero delay time, but this does not do that. THRU-0 does change the sound, but it is not correctly handling it. M3 MBP, latest Logic. Might be a signal routing problem when adding the second delay line for TZF.

btw, love the flanging intro on Van Halen's "Hear About It Later"

Yeah, that's a good one. Great example of the M-117 on clean and overdriven guitar.
BTW, I was momentarily confused about 'Atomic Punk'. That's not the M-117. It's the Phase 90.
