A riser/dropper type of effect. $50. A very specific/limited application but some folks may find it useful.

Checking this out and it’s pretty good, especially for the price, but dear god I wish he’d hire a new UI designer.

A little update: I upgraded to Explorer 10 and got SynFex with it and have been using it a bit on a song I'm currently working on. Gotta say, aside from the UI not being easy on the eyes, SynFex is a pretty great plugin IMO, if you work in styles that make heavy use of these types of transitions. The thing that worried me a bit before trying it was that it appeared that the up/down slopes were linear only, which would've been a major fail IMO, but thankfully that's not the case. There's actually quite a bit of versatility with the slopes and hinge points, not to mention that the envelopes can be used to further shape the response curves. The LFOs take it even further and the onboard effects sound good. I'm actually pretty impressed by the reverb, although I may still bypass it and send it to a bus to keep all of my effects sounds in one reverb space.
The only feature I think it's missing is an onboard ducker, which is pretty common for these types of transition effects. I tried to replicate a ducking effect with the LFOs, but the shapes are too basic to get a good sidechained type of envelope. Not a big deal, since I can just throw a CableGuys plugin or LFOTool after it in my effects chain, but it would be nice to have that feature baked into SynFex (maybe I'll make it a FR).

I agree. Not that I buy plugins for their appearance, but it's certainly a factor in my decision and many other people's as well, especially when they're hard to read and/or just plain ugly. A modern overhaul of their UIs would probably get them a lot more attention and probably sales.db3 wrote: Sun Mar 09, 2025 9:25 pm Agreed, RP needs to overhaul UI and add hi-dpi support for their entire product line.
Would probably generate more interest than new products.

This is my impression as well. I've come to learn how to get over bad UIs / workflows that doesn't seem logical, but if you stick with it, it quite quickly becomes a non-issue and muscle memory takes over.cryophonik wrote: Mon Mar 10, 2025 1:24 am Not that I buy plugins for their appearance, but it's certainly a factor in my decision and many other people's as well, especially when they're hard to read and/or just plain ugly.
But I agree - a good intuitive UI will always bring in more attention.
