Black Rooster Audio and the Legend of the Mystery Folder and File

Can someone else confirm what I'm seeing? I've been trying to communicate an issue with BRA and while they have been quick to respond, it's been... a bit surreal.
Their plugin license system supposedly connects (ie. writes some files) to a specific drive. It can be a hard drive or a USB flash drive. I chose my primary hard drive, long ago. I still want it to be my primary hard drive. It's still there on my primary hard drive.
So my plugins all work. That's no problem at all.
The problem is that the plugins will also write my license details to any USB flash drive that happens to be plugged into my computer when a BRA plugin is un-loaded. It creates a folder named Black Rooster Audio. In the folder is a file named licensedata.xml.
Steps to re-create:
1. Attach a USB flash drive to your computer (I used a Kingston DataTraveler because it was on sale)
2. Start up your DAW or host of choice (I tried Reaper and Waveform)
3. Load a BRA plugin (I used GA-GT2 because rock and roll)
4. Un-load (delete) the plugin from the DAW or host (or just close the DAW or host)
5. Witness your license on the USB flash drive
Is it just me that this happens to? Is it just me that thinks this is a problem? I asked BRA to make it stop and they gave me instructions on how to make it happen by choice.

Surely there must be consensus by now...

This happens to me, I have always wondered why that folder appears on my usb drive but it never really caused me any issues so I always just deleted it.

Maybe you used the usb stick as license holder sometimes in the past and there are still some old settings stored somewhere

Indeed sounds like some old files are interfering with the newer ones.

If it was ever set to use a USB stick, that was a mistake and soon corrected. I don't remember that happening, but I guess it's possible. The plugins all correctly say that the license is on my local drive and the licensedata file is where it should be in the AppData path.
I can't find anywhere that says a location for the license. I've searched the registry and various folders that might have settings.
BRA recommends and uninstall and re-install. I'll give that a try...

Uninstall doesn't work. The plugins still knew my license info and still created folder + file on any USB drives. I discovered that the uninstall doesn't remove the license info from the AppData\Roaming path so I manually deleted it and tried again. Nope. It still gets my license info from somewhere and still adds junk to USB drives.
The uninstaller also doesn't remove Registry entries. I found a Registry entry with license info and deleted that during the uninstall and re-install process. That seems to have worked. I still have no idea where it stores the location for the licensedata file. The plugins seem to know that I chose my local drive. Why does it duplicate it onto USB drives?
